"I like that. Did he tell his point guards?"

Also...

“@Ben_Fred: Martin: "We'll run. The key with us running is not turning it over."

”“@Ben_Fred: Martin on turnovers: "A lot of turnovers are our mistakes. Jordan has 15 in SEC play. Jarnell has 13. Those are key guys."”

Of Jordans 15, at least 12 came in the half court set. And they are lazy passes, not due to getting in a hurry. IMO

So we aren't running because the pg's don't want to? Barton, from Memphis, doesn't want to?
He tried one coast to coast last game and missed a layup, to be pulled and not see the floor again.
He must think UT fans are idiots. He has never had a running team. Now, we don't because the pg's would rather run a halfcourt offense?
Pitiful, really.

And it would improve spacing as well. Kudos to you guys above for pointing that out. I believe that's called a Ron Swanson among these parts. Or maybe spacing finally took a forefront to offensive efficiency % rates between the 16 minute and 12 minute tv timeouts. I knew you'd catch on.

After listening to the Locker Room call in show I don't blame him. lol

But I agree that TO isn't the reason this team don't run more.

BTW if you noticed I didn't go there.

It appears that the only directions CCM gives is to the caterers on how to get the goodies to the news updates....It wouldn't break his jaw to tell:clapping: the PG's to push it.....

Zo sure hasn't been listening to Charlie.

We know it. Jarnell and the players know it. Zo knows it. He just doesn't know how to coach it. Which makes the hiring and retention even more ludicrous.

will be interesting with Arkansas coming in. Does he choose to stick with eking it across against the press and going to a halfcourt offense or does he try to run with a team that is built to run?
I say go down swinging. Fans want to see you give it your best and our best isn't what we've been doing.

Arkansas plays the fastest in the SEC, will be interesting. It wasn't long ago Martin came out and his gameplan was to surprise Arkansas by running, we ended up running them off the court.

If f vols can continue to rebound well. Hogs won't be running as much.
If they send 5 to the offensive glass, vols will be able to run.

This blows my mind. What is Martin saying here?

Why can't Martin tell the point guards?
Did he tell them and they don't listen?
Martin keeps saying he wants to run. Does anyone really believe that?

Worries me that one of two things is happening here: 1. Martin is FOS and doesn't want to run. 2. Martin has lost control of the team.

So first Martin blamed Trae for the team not running, and now he's blaming Barton and Thompson. I'm sensing a pattern, and it points right back to the HC. It also rubs me wrong when a coach publicly points blame at his players. Do it all you want in a closed practice, but don't throw your PGs under the bus to reporters.

And evidently Stokes hasn't talked to CM about it. And Barton obviously hasn't either. And Reese had to go to CM to talk.
There is a great chance we are seeing the root of many problems: communication or lack thereof. Go figure, it only affects everyday personal and business life, why not a basketball team.

We'll see if the point got across tonight. Arkansas will want to run, if we want to run too Arkansas won't try to stop us.

If CCM's interview and public relations skills are any indication, l'll guess communication isn't his strong suit.

I wish we would've tried running for a few games prior to playing a team that specializes in it, but still feel confident we can get up and down with about anyone. Turnovers haven't been an issue while running, but we'll see with Arky's little trapping press. Will we get in the middle and attack it? Or will we just hope to get it across and set up a play?

Maybe a little bit of both but more that CCM doesn't want the team to run.

Turnovers are my biggest concern about pushing the tempo.
