ha yeah I don't mean to beat a dead horse at all. I just believe a coach can be in a refs ear without the temper tantrum. Billy D is awesome at it.

A ref needs to remember the last close call b4 he makes the next. And IMO any decent coach helps with that.

Yea true BD is good at that. I guess he wants other teams to have respect for us and him

To be fair, Cal is doing it with much better talent across the board, and with a team that averages more than 6 more points per game with a scoring margin of +8.2 (compared to UT's scoring margin of only +3).

We are 14th in steals and 13th in TO margin.

UK can get away with playing honest defense because they don't struggle to score offensively by taking it to the hole and getting out in transition.

We don't do that enough.

As it turns out, those numbers are off. When I typed in 2013-14 SEC stats, it somehow defaulted to 2012-13 numbers. Didn't realize that until much after the fact.

UK does have more talent. They do average more ppg (+5). They do have a slightly higher scoring margin.

Tennessee is 10th in steals and 7th in TO margin.

The biggest difference is in the FG% defense and 3-point FG% defense. UK is 3rd in both while Tennessee is 11th in FG% defense and 13th in 3-point FG% defense.

In other words, UK doesn't force a lot of TOs, but they defend shots well. Tennessee doesn't force a lot of TOs, but they don't defend shots well.

Correct, our D has blown big time.

Maymon has picked it up offensively, but his D is terrible. They take him outside and shoot, drive by him, or post him and he can't really stop anybody. One game, the first 5 shots the other team hit were all on maymon

Yup maymon's D has been weak all year and just now his offense has caught on. He's really been hurting us until SEC play

Our help side defense and post defense has been pretty bad all year. Martin commented that he had to take Maymon out because he wasn't letting his guy blow by him too much. His knees just aren't there anymore. It's sad to see a 23 year old guy playing on 40 year old (at best) knees.
