For years, Lucas controlled all aspects the franchise, top down. Much to the detriment of the films. Controlling what made it so amazing to people was originality in SF, forward thinking fiction story, and richness of characters. If you think about it ILM got too fancy for its britches. Jedi's doing twirls and flips and Ewoks? Jar Jar?i grew up with star wars and absolutely loved it, it has become the vandy of franchises

It was time to pass the torch. Us adults forget, we grew up. This story wasnt intended for us. Its a kids story.
Dave Filione has taken that torch, and absolutely opened up the Galaxy. We have Thrawn! And he's now canon. Star Wars movies were stale. Only thing moving it forward was the cartoons and comics, and books. Where people could freely exercise creativity and move the story forward.
Id give Disney a B+ for its efforts with SW. Really their content has been very good. Very good. Issues I have are their Star Wars World at DW, frankly, sucks. I also think sometimes they push too much content, which can water it down. We dont need a new Star Wars show or movie every three months.
dave started out pretty good but the Star hers management pushing him to it a DEI and woke story. star wars has always been a male supported story and it focused on boys. girls had no interest for the most part. that's not a bad thing. now, we have a bunch of cultural marxist feminists that's in charge of star wars, who's pushing boys out and trying to make it all about women. it's satire at this point, every bad guy is white and every protagonist is some female. their agenda has caused crap writing and a terrible story. there is no need for it. those feminazis producers, show runners, etc are pushing an agenda that people don't want from star wars. you ever watched the interviews with those people? they have no clue about star wars lore, all they see and know is that men bad.
i do agree, they need to shelve star wars and the M-SHE-U for about 5-8 years then come out with something that isn't agenda driven.

What in the hell kind of psycho babble is that? I dont have time or patience for Fox News nonsense today.
This is a thread about a science fiction franchise man. No one cares about your social political stuff.
Then dont watch them, princess. No one is holding you at gun point.but it does play into movies, so talking about the movies, it's crap, the story writing is crap. without being political of course.
I just dont care. I mean, who gives a ****?@dalton_vol you do realize you are the only person in this thread whining about it right? No one is coming to your defense on this.
And it’s not because you are the smartest person in the room.

That's fine. the shows are crap. which i know many of you don't understand that. which is fine. you can have your opinion as do i. the viewership ratings of these shows agree with me even if you guys don't and i'm fine with that.
netflix has done well despite the down turn. the discussion of the plot, story structure does intertwine with DEI crap because they've put that in the forefront. so i'm projecting culture bias and also critiquing it. both can be done.I’ve already broken down box office in this thread. You are comparing it to the peak in 2019. In the context of all studios it’s not nearly as dire as you seem to think.
Streaming is in the same boat. Everything peaked in 2020 (you know why). And everything has dipped since. Aside from losing subscribers in India due to dropping cricket, D+ has grown in North Am and EU.
I will concede it’s not all been great, but truthfully not all of Phase 1-3 was great either. I’m more than happy to actually discuss story structure, plot, and pacing. But if your critique is just crying about DEI and “woke agenda shoved down your throat” then you aren’t really critiquing, you are projecting personal cultural bias.

Netflix is the exception to every rule right now, and they're putting out woke **** too. What was that animated movie with the gay characters that Disney turned down and was a hit on Netflix?
Face it. You're an old man yelling at clouds
Probably not even that old. I’m getting strong late 20s/early 30s white dude vibes. The kind that spends their day watching recreational outrage videos on YouTube then swearing the masses agree with them.Netflix is the exception to every rule right now, and they're putting out woke **** too.
