AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Will Have a THOR Crossover!

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Will Have a THOR Crossover!
Marvel is planning a big connection with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Thor: The Dark World! On November 19th, an episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air on ABC called "The Wall," and it will crossover with the events from Thor: The Dark World! How freakin' cool is that?! I was hoping they would do something like this, and I hope they do something really cool with it. Here's a description of the episode from EW,

"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces--one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team."

The episode was directed by Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation), and I'm excited to seeing how they actually end up connecting these together.

It's something, but at least it's consistenly something. All I can say is "New Girl"? What's that?

The two tech geeks need to go. The accent is annoying and their characters are just the same.

Show seems to be finding it's legs somewhat. I have enjoyed the last couple of episodes more than the previous ones.

Yeah. I think a good part of it is that they got rid of a good portion of the juvenile behavior and dialogue.

I don't know fellas. Last nights episode was a bit lame. Geek chick accidentally tazers a high ranking Shield guy. They send in Colson's two man team with no extraction at all, Geek guy brings a huge sub sandwich on a mission, some of the dialogue was just weird. Not the best episode. Feel like I am trying to like this show when in fact it's average at best. Kinda reminds of when Dollhouse aired. I wanted it to do well, but it just never got off the ground much. Anyway, I'll be watching next week...for now.

the airplane is still stupid

I didn't mind the airplane until they did the hovering scene in this last episode. I almost said out loud, "come on!"

IMO it's time for Joss Whedon to do another vampire show. He does them so well with Buffy, and Angel. Not Whedon's show but I was a fan of Moonlight.

I guess that's why it has the rear engines, huh? I don't know, this is a show about aliens and superpowers, I think I'm down with a C-17 with VTOL capability.

They have a whole aircraft carrier that can do the same thing and you have a problem with the plane?

I actually thought this was one of the best episodes of the series so for. The question about the mission without an extraction plan. It was pretty well stated by the head agent lady in charge of the OP that it was supposed to be a one-way mission that is why she didn't tell Coulson.

Things are starting to heat up with the back story stuff of Skye's parents and then Coulson wants the files of his death (I think it was his he was wanting) and they were classified even at his level of clearance.

The hover carrier can, perhaps, be forgiven since it is pure fantasy to begin with. The C-17 is a real plane with real specifications.

Its all part of the same organization if they can make a aircraft carrier that can hover & fly.

I'm sure they have no problem making a C-17 do the same thing.

Suspension of disbelief.

When I first saw "Top Gun", I couldn't get over the fact that the Russian "MiGs" were actually American F-5s painted flat black.

Suspension of disbelief can't override my BS detector.

That said, you would think I wouldn't enjoy anything in the movies or on TV, but that isn't the case at all.

Yep, definitely trying to look up info on his treatment. What exactly is Tahiti referring to? Is he a clone? Did they use alien tech to bring him back?

LMD with implanted memories would be my guess.

For those that haven't seen this lately the last 5-6 episodes have been very well done! IMO

First Look at Bill Paxton in Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in! I haven't really been enjoying Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. My interest has faded, and I honestly think the show should be a lot better, with more interesting characters. Well, it looks like Bill Paxton has joined the series for a four-episode character arc. He will play Agent John Garrett, and according to Joss Whedon,

140112mag-shield-paxton1_210x305.jpg

"We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger."

Which is something the show has definitely been missing. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added,

"He is the type who wants to stay out in the field no matter how high-level he gets."

Agent John Garrett first appeared in the Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz comic Electra: Assassin, in which S.H.I.E.L.D gave him some cybernetic upgrades after suffering injuries in the line of duty. Who knows, maybe we'll see some of that in the show. Whedon did say though...

"when Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two."

It looked like they were rebuilding his brain in those flashbacks.

Not sure whether the show has found a bit of footing or I've just simply gotten used to it.

I'm still trying to like this show, but there's too much bad about it that keeps me from fully embracing it.

I watched about the first four episodes and just never got into it. Granted im not huge on comics and stuff

That one chick was hot though

Care to elaborate?

For one, the storyline just really isn't that interesting. I thought the whole Coulson thing where they start giving insight into what happened to him would be interesting, yet they've kind of drug it out too much and managed to make it boring.

Secondly, the acting is a notch above Revolution, and that's not a compliment. The main cast is ok, albeit none of them are particularly strong, but like Revolution they seem to have a problem getting extras and secondary actors who are worth a crap. It's like SyFy Channel movie bad.

I think it would have worked much better as a 13 episode season rather than stretched out to 22. I really don't think there's enough substance for that many episodes.
