Masters Week!

I still can't believe the two approaches Tiger hit to 15 and 17. I know the one at 15 was a really tough shot, but you generally don't see Tiger completely gag on two shots like that.

Yep, especially the shot on 17 - it looked pretty routine (whereas the 15 required a perfect shot).

Also, the putts of Johnson and Woods on 16 were similar but Woods was much tougher - Johnson came in relatively straight but Tigers had a downslope and more right to left break.

Now I was on the verge of napping on Saturday, but as I closed my eyes, I could have sworn I heard one of the golf commentators comparing something to "being tortured by a beautiful woman"....

Or did I dream it?

Please warn members of Al Queda before posting such vile trash. :birgits_giggle:

I'm pretty sure it happened Lex. It might have been the only time that anything having to do with golf made me chuckle a bit.

It's easy to second guess now, but in retrospect it looked like the shot on 15 was one of the few times that you'll ever see Tiger lose his patience. From the rough; with tree trouble to a slick table top green that may not have been the best play. But then again, Tiger has options that most people can only dream of.

He should have defintitely laid up there for an easy attempt at birdie. Mental error on his part whether he admits it or not.

Come on. You're talking about a very calculated golfer who has hit some of the momentous shots in the game AT CRUNCH TIME. Why should he not have expected to pull off that shot? He's 3 down and very well aware of how poorly he's playing / putting. I think he made the exact right decision and just didn't pull it off. It happens.

He couldn't put a drive in the fairway when he needed to. What made him think he could pull that shot off. I know he is the best player in the world, but he needs to be able to adjust.

Hard to say. On #13, he hit a monster drive and then an outstanding 5 iron to set up an eagle. I really thought he'd have a better drive on #15. I think his problem was trying to get the perfect shot rather than a good/great shot. He could have put it on the green from there but he tried to do too much with that shot.

I think he tried it because he was struggling and he felt he needed the eagle just to have a chance. Conservative in his mind at that time probably meant playing for second place. That ain't his bag.

What's funny about this is that Tiger said after the round, that he needed the 4iron that he broke on #11 for that shot. Didn't have a 4 so had to hit a 5 as hard as he could. we all saw the result...

I think he probably favored the miss right because there is room over there to be dry or in the bunker.
