Matt Johnson and Co.

Meanwhile, Georgia is at Vandy, showing just how one-dimensional their offense is.

We win this game tonight, get strong momentum going for the Florida game, and we have a favorable route to Atlanta.

p.s. Grats, BGSU friends, on a very nice game. Will continue cheering for your success all year! MAC Championship game for you!

I know it's "just Maryland"... But seeing these Bowling Green stats from today makes me feel a bit better about our defense since BGSU goes on the road and beats a BCS school by 21.

Bowling Green won 48-27.

Matt Johnson threw for 491 yards and 6 TD's.
Bowling Green, as a team, had 692 yards of Offense.

and it really wasn't even that close. they had a number of drives stall in the first in the redzone. one of them the kicker missed an easy FG. they also went for it on 4th down and got stuffed.

they probably should've scored 55+ points.

AND... I know it was a few years back, but; IIRC, didn't Maryland beat us in a bowl game?

If we turn out to be a playoff contender, I could see them getting into a new years six bowl as the Group of Five representative. They have Purdue and Memphis left in their out of conference schedule. Win those 2 impressively and then handle the conference schedule and they'd be looking at 11-1. One team from the Group of Five gets an automatic big into the New Years Six Bowls. They could get that nod if Boise State or Marshall lose a game.

The only reason I think Babers wouldn't be, is because when I was on BGSU'S forum last week, they made it sound like he doesn't care about defense at all.

Apparently he said something along the lines of "As long as we score more points..."

I know it's worked for TCU and Baylor, but I don't know if I'd want a coach like that.

Him and Mason together would make one hell of a coach

I saw those pin-point passes from Johnson last week and thought " how the he// do you defend those?" Then everyone was jumping up and down on poor coverage's, thinking did I just have my "orange glasses on or what?"

This! Granted, we got burnt quite a bit, but Johnson was laser accurate 99% of his throws!

Well Johnson had almost 500 yards passing. I am beginning to think I underestimated how good their offense is. Also if I am not mistaken, I thought I heard that BG had a top five offense in the country last year?

UGA already benched the starting QB. They don't look like east division champs by any stretch. Hard to tell. Mason may have done a good job with the Vandy D, but I doubt it. We get past this game and all the momentum swings our way. Anybody mentioned how huge this game tonite is?

No.

They had the 43rd best offense last year, 41st passing.

Agree no Illinois is good and Toledo is taking it to arkansas

and Central Michigan was leading Oklahoma State for most of the game last week before losing 24-13. the MAC is a good conference. some of those teams are better than the bottom of alot of power 5 conferences.

our win week 1 was a quality win. sure we had some breakdowns. but nothing to be ashamed of. I think we should have taken a cue from Butch Jones. he was not worried after the game. that let me know everything I needed to know. we have a good football team and we should have a chance to win every game on our schedule.
