I'm surprised as well. I haven't really followed the West this year outside of Bama and LSU and the Arky free fall, but it seemed like Ole Miss had turned a corner, at least offensively. I guess the AD thought the coaching staff was offensive.

This firing is actually bad for my Bears. We open next season with Ole Miss in Houston and now they and the Committee have a built-in excuse when we embarrass an SEC West team.

Got to be targeting Norvell and hearing he is close to making a move. If he didn’t want to go to Ark, not sure he would accept an offer from Miss. but who knows?

Reports are Matt Luke has a $17 million buyout. Why? He would have taken the Ole Miss job with no buyout. No one else was beating down the door to hire him as head coach. These schools and donor groups have lost their minds.

Because apparently a lot of Athletic Directors don’t seem to understand the meaning of leverage. It’s the same with Orgeron. They gave him a $12 million buyout when he would have taken the job with no buyout.

Not sure if or why Norvell would even consider one of those dumpster fires...He has it made at Memphis for the moment, if I'm him I wait for one of the premier jobs to come open like USC and get that huge payday.....Easier to rebuild out there than at Ole Miss or Arkansas.
