Apparently Matt Luke was sitting in a recruits living room, speaking with his family and found out he was fired via text message.

If I heard correctly, the kid who peed after the TD was parading around the sidelines afterwards - apparently not being disciplined then he was in on the onsides kick attempt rather than benched for being a dumba@@. Might be a last straw kind of thing questioning Luke's control of the team.

Only question is if he could build a team from scratch. Not questioning his abilities but he took over an 11-1 team. Repeating that record is admirable no doubt, but he stepped into a good situation.

There are a lot of UT fans here. Never will forget the the road sign a crew set upon 55 entering Mississippi saying 'you are leaving Vol Country'. I don't think either will hurt or help. Vols can dominate here regardless if the coaches put in the time which Pruitt is doing.

Yeah...seems Ole Miss pulled the trigger on Luke (similar to GA cutting with Richt, where GA was afraid Kirby was headed to USCe). Ole Miss seeing/thinking Norvell is a target of Mizzou.

Two of those jobs are vacant because their ADs said there is a lack of enthusiasm in their fanbases. Translation : not enough sizzle to compensate for the lack of wins is hurting the bottom line. I don't know who they will each hire but I can guarantee that both are more worried about winning the press conference than they are about being bowl eligible next year.
