Matt Rhule to Nebraska (now it’s official)

Looks like Rhule is learning what he has stepped into. Osborne tells the Omaha World Herald he and Rhule had a brief conversation over the phone basically about what a good job Mickey Joseph did as interim. He essentially told him to hire Mickey Joseph it sounds like. There may be some clashing between control freak Rhule and meddling Tom Osborne.

I think Beamer encouraged Satterfield to take that job, frankly. Most SC fans wanted him gone.

Beamer can deny it until the cows come home but I don’t believe for one second that Satterfield was calling the plays against UT and Clemson. The offense was too radically different from the previous 10 games.

Matt Rhule is an excellent hire for Nebraska. He has a proven track record of doing more with less.

2 best weeks of the past decade for SC football and the OC suddenly makes a lateral move to Nebraska. SC has been fed up with Satterfield for weeks and it came to a head 2 weeks ago when they scored 6 points against Florida. Undoboubtedly, he hasn't been the one calling the plays the past 2 weeks.

I would say that Rhule is good at finding undervalued talent than he is at doing more with less. He's pretty good at finding low 4* and high 3* players with chips on their shoulders with something to prove. This past spring Baylor had five players drafted and six others signed UFA contracts (all Rhule recruits). That's an usually high number for us to have going to Spring training camps.

News out of Columbia: South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler will be entering the Transfer Portal. Rattler is believed to be headed to Nebraska with former OC Marcus Satterfield who just joined Matt Ruhle’s staff.

I wonder who was - highly doubt it was Beamer. Beamer's never been an OC.
