Maui fire. What is going on?

The natives don’t want to be Americans and want all their land and culture back. We should accommodate this. Then they can go back to living in huts and fishing and collecting coconuts all day with no electricity or running water. Hawaii is nothing more than a leftist welfare state.

So much ignorance in one post...there is only one state who takes more $ from the federal government than they give to the federal government, and it's not Hawai'i. There are 4 other states who take in about as much as they give, and none of them are Hawai'i.

No, it's the same reason Florida is in an insurance crisis. Areas prone to natural disasters (wildfires, hurricanes, etc.) are too risky to insure. Insurers are pulling out of FL in droves as well. It will be near impossible to insure properties in these states in a couple of years.
Yep. Add that the Property insurance market as whole is a sh1t show right now and that’s not a good combo for those in high risk areas. From 1970-2001 there were 0 $60B Property loss years (total losses globally). Since then there have been 13 years of $60B+ losses, including 5 over $100B and 3 over $140B. 2023 isn’t going any better either.

Well I hope Hawaiians are finally understanding the effect of voting for these corrupt idiots. Feel bad for all the victims who were not even old enough to vote, but died to a fire from "climate change" that some how neatly chose which neighborhoods it should and should not burn precisely block by block.

Hawaii's Democratic governor says there are people "fighting against the release of water to fight fires" and that it needs to be explored further. The official who delayed the approval is a climate activist who believes water should be "revered" first & foremost. The DEI agenda is literally costing people their lives.

if this is true, and the context behind the truth is accurate, then this person who withheld water (I have a hard time understanding how that works, btw) should be held accountable.

To my knowledge the water in Hawaii is basically controlled entirely by a state agency. The governor bitching about it is rich.

I agree 100% he should be held accountable. This climate activists, (who mostly have a D beside their name) who is in charge of releasing the water to fight fires, seems to be off the rails in their thinking things through clearly & in a responsible way. He'd rather worship the water, as a living breathing thing, and water is to be revered, than to use water to put fires out and to save lives.

The horrors of capitalism...some of these people are in a position where they are going to need to sell now and will take them up on it. The people who don't need to sell are offended. The people who desperately need to cash out are going to take the best offer because that's what they need to do for their families, regardless of how gross it seems. This Zero Hedge homey is throwing stones at others who are offering solutions, and I'm sure he is doing all he can to help people in Maui.

100% Accurate!

The vultures that descended on to Fort Myers Beach after Hurricane Ian sent a 12-foot storm surge over it was astounding, saw it first hand.

Mad sums of money are being offered to vulnerable people who can't afford or lack the willingness to rebuild and just need money to survive.

Same reason that there were buyers crawling all over the Champlain Towers property in Surfside before the bodies were even cold, opportunities to buy distressed properties in paradise don't come around often.
