I heard, but cannot state from who that:

Pearl called the recruits and told them what to say to the NCAA (lie), and a few of them told the NCAA "Pearl told me to say (the lie), but this is what really happened"

Again, this was from a friend that has friend very close to the situation. May be nothing, but if this is true how bad is it?

As if people weren't already about to pull the trigger today...

Probably not the best time for this post. Can't say I really care right now.

If he told them to lie. Then it will be bad. Hope it is just a rumor

I actually heard this exact same story from someone this morning.

Our basketball program is going to get the equivalent of the death penalty if this is true.

Just think about the sequence of events. After Pearl was interviewed by the NCAA where he claimed ignorance about the picture, he came back a few weeks later and told the truth. What happened in between? Did Pearl contact the people in the picture and ask them to get on board with his story? Duh. I am not sure why he didn't realize the NCAA talked to the other people in the picture before him. They were asking a question they already knew the answer. When you realize that other people have already told the truth, thus your alibi has already fallen apart, you have no other choice but to come clean.

I just don't know how you can be that stupid.

Also, I doubt he got in contact with Selby and Craft (who were the ones in the picture) and told them to lie.

I can feel safe calling this one BS.

It probably is BS, but there is definitely one person who wants it to be true. Hatvol.
Not true. I actually like having Pearl around now. He serves as a living monument to the naivete and cluelessness of the Hallelujah Choir who believed he was anything other than the slimy hypocrite he's always been. If he gets fired, it kind of loses its steam.

See I don't get that attitude hat. You just root for something in order to say "see, I told you". I don't think anyone ever said Pearl was a saint, the argument is whether or not he is beneficial to our program. Try not to always be "(t)hat guy".

Oh, no. Unimaine, MHF, IA Vol, et al were adamant that I was misrepresenting the character of Saint Bruce of The Spray Tan. According to them, he was The Last Honest Man In College Basketball. How'd that turn out for them?

I didn't have to root for anything. Pearl was going to eventually prove me right, regardless of whether or not I was rooting for or against it.

Why do you post on this board? How can you call yourself a Tennessee fan? I have never seen one positive post come from you regarding our basketball program. You were probably miserable when Houston, O'Neill, Buzz, etc. were losing games at UT. You are miserable having Bruce here. What gives? What is it that you want? What would make you happy with the basketball program ideally? What coach? What philosophy? Please tell us.
