Maybe we should focus on being a run-oriented offense.

Both Tennessee and Florida had 11 possessions. Florida had the ball 37 minutes to our 22 minutes. That is why it seemed like we only had very few possessions. They played keep away.

We actually had more total yardage, 387 - 349. We had 10 penalties to their 5. We did not lose the game because of the run game. We lost the game because we let them score 20 points in the second quarter and then had to play catch up. That gave them confidence. And there were a couple of key blunders by the referees. I know folks will say don't blame the refs, but they were at key moments when Tennessee had momentum and a chance to get back into the game.
We lost by 13. It sucked. But say we removed the ref kicking the ball and scored a TD there. That drive that ended with Milton badly missing 4 throws in a row would have hurt a lot more b/c connecting on one of those would have likely won the game.

Of course Bama Always had a solid defense and qb just had to be average and not lose the game by any bad plays.

this^ is the best synopsis of that game. Yeah the calls were really at the very worst time & the Castle debatable crackback block was basically a 35 yard penalty subtracting the gain and taking away a 1st down. I really hate when ppl say don't blame the refs but if you don't express yourself they have no accountability at all. Also the announcers were calling the refs out and actually laughed at one call. We probably would not have come back but the 50/50 calls, no calls & lack of PIs made it insurmountable. We had a little juice going and they sucked the life out of it. One bad call can change the whole dynamics of how a game plays out. I know blaming the refs looks petty sometimes but these were 50/50 /no calls and the kicking the ball by the ref, it was just a bumf1lked night.
