Mayo to go pro?

Yeah, that looks right. Donald/Walker could still get in the mix, regardless of DE work and suspension.

I think McCoy is going to be special next year. Just a feeling.

Considering his play this year? I think he was great.

If he can put on about 20 more pounds and keep his speed/agility he'll be great.

We have good LBs on the bench. Mayo would have done well here his senior year, but I think Wilson will be a good replacement in the middle.

He needs to get in better shape though. Guy was huffin' something fierce in the bowl game, but that's understandable considering he probably hasn't gone that full-on for that amount of time since summer. But still, he was a bit lethargic.

hopefully you're right about him being replaceable. mayo had that ability to be wherever the ball carrier was and we could really use that next season. i'm not worried about mccoy or really wilson either. i just don't know about that 3rd spot.

I'm hoping and sort of expect Donald to make a push for the SLB spot.

Strongside linebackers at Tennessee have averaged probably 5'11"-6'0", 220lbs in the Chavis era. I don't know if he has the coverage skills to play SLB, and he's probably best to stay at DE.

Definitely will play LB next year. Don't know which one though. Most likely 2nd string if he gets his stuff straight.

Meyers-White is listed at SLB, and he's 6'3. And didn't Kevin Burnett play SLB?

I really thought he'd stay. Oh well, go get that money and good luck to ya.

can't blame him

1. Get a college degree. Check
2. Become a very good LB. Check
3. Know the fact you're going to be making big bucks. Check

best of luck Jerod

the hate on this board is almost too much to handle. If your friend was going to take a promotion at his job from making essentially nothing, to making essentially MILLIONS of dollars you'd be all aboard.

I'm so happy for Mayo for making this decision. That's the nature of college football. Some players are good and decide to go pro early. I wish him the best of luck and i'm glad for HIM.

i completely agree with you. some people are just selfish. what if he came back next year and got an injury to where he could never play again?

Even though I disagree with your haircut choice (mullet) I agree with what your saying (some what). That doesnt mean I am not disapointed with him leaving. I still think that its the wrong decision for him. I think he would make more money staying one more year and going pro next year. I dont think he will do very well in the draft at all. Plus it would help us out a bunch!!!!

He must be listening to Kiper, he had him as 3rd overall linebacker which would put him late 1st, early 2nd round. Maybe he won't sign with an agent! Lol! Is that even still an option??
