McCain attacks Obama over Iran comments

Joke if you want- I consider it an extremely dire issue. (and I'm usually the comedian) =P

Basically, those countries mentioned will be invading our country and taking our resources in Alaska, the Dakota's and the Gulf of Mexico?

All under the environmental banner which doesn't make sense at all. If you want to keep the earth clean then you should want the process to be as clean as possible. In other words you would not want your oil produced in a country with little or no standards while they could be sure it would be done cleanly as possible here.

You think that would be the case with prescription drugs also.....

This sounds a lot like the GOP campaign 4 years ago. Selling fear. Just because we are told we should be afraid of Iraq and Iran - should we? Bush sold the idea that he was the only person to keep us safe from the terrors and plight that Iraq would surely bring on Americans. Enough sheep fell for it. Now McCain is trying the same tactic.

It'll be interesting to see if enough Americans fall for the same line twice. All the while we're worrying about the ants when the elephants are coming.

We are already experiencing a strain on world resource- hence, the $4.00/gallon for gas that just hit us today.

We can thank our reliance on the Middle East and the exponential growth of China for this.

It's not going to get any better.

No one is going to invade us, per se. However, if we continue our over-dependence on oil, a world wide conflict is inevitable.

I don't disagree with you......... the hard part would be finding the players and alliances..........

In this scenario, South America will become a hot spot!

You are taking a huge leap there, hope you don't have weak ankles. McCain is not selling fear of Iran to anyone. He is simply pointing out that the leader of the free world has nothing to gain and much to lose by holding talks with terrorist states. If they want to talk make them bring something to the table.

GOP sells fear of security and the DNC sells fear of exploitation of senior citizens.

Stupid pieces of trash!

How is that a leap of any measure? The article and McCain qoutes in this thread clearly show he is selling Iran as huge threat to the US - more so a threat than the Soviets. Hogwash.

Pure fear tactic. Nothing more.

No he stated that Iran is a grave threat especially being on the cusp of nuclear capability. It said nowhere that Iran poses or posed a greater threat than the Soviet Union.

I guess it's all in how you read the first sentence. By blaming someone of something you really take a position on the matter in my mind.

Obama was the one trying to compare it to Regan and Gorby, or Nixon and China, both oif which are ridiculous at best. Iran supplies a majority of the IED's that are killing U.S. soldiers, that's enough of a reason to not have "discussions"... not to mention issues such as Isreal, etc.

that's rich. A democrat, or sympathizer at a minimum, calling Bush supporters sheep. The party of robbing Peter to pay Paul, hence securing Paul and progeny's vote for generations calling someone else sheep. Very ironic.

By the by, I voted for Bush twice and it had nothing to do with fear. I like his stand on a strong military (especially after Clinton gutted it) and would rather have Donald Duck as President than Gore or Kerry. Ditto Obama.

I voted for Bush in 2000. I would have voted for Donald Duck over Bush in 2004.

I voted for Bush twice as well and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm not all that happy with some of the things he's done, but I think he's infinitely better than either Gore or Kerry.

btw, I voted for ol' Slick Willy back in 1992, but I was 24 back then and not very smart or mature.

Did anyone have the "Don't blame me, I voted for Bush" bumper sticker? I just had a flashback and remembered those stickers from back in the Clinton years. Good stuff, they should put one of those stickers in a time capsule.

There are still some stragglers with those silly W stickers on their cars. I get a good laugh everytime I see one of those.
