how about one policy, one statement that proves what Ayers did decades ago would have a negative effect on what Obama would do as president. anything.

It is a part of the socialist agenda and there is no way a candidate for president can openly run on that platform, so what do you expect?

If Obama would come out and say "look we lived in the same neighborhood and worked together on common projects, we were friendly even though I knew he was involved in some horrible plans in his younger days." I would give him a pass. He denies he ever knew about Ayers past which I find insulting! I am by no means the sharpest tool in the shed and I never went to college, but I know what the "weather underground" was and I knew Ayers was a part of it!

The problem that I have is not just Ayers or Wright TennNC. It is Farrukhan's lawyer, etc, etc, etc, you see it's not just one or two shady relationships it is many over the coarse of his young political career. I just don't trust a person who has that many negative "friends".

Wishful thinking on your part, people have had months of Obama being very prevalent in the public arena. Still, the polls are trending heavily towards him. Four weeks is not enough time for him to lose this election unless he blows up a hospital.

I would not go that far..........

:eek:k:

I get all of his associations because Obama had to make his bed with the Chicago political machine. I am not giving Obama a complete pass but that is the reason.

It's not, short of something absolutely earth-shaking. That was my point

I am quite confident that Obama will win.... which at this point I am actually wanting.

It would be nice to have conservatives, not republicans, get a piece of congress back and have Palin in on 2012.

There is your one, as I said if it were just one I would consider it a non issue. Obama has made very poor choices concerning political allies and friends. At best it is just bad judgment, at worst there is a reason for these questionable alliances (possibly to be subversive). There are way too many questions about Obama's past, too much for me to feel comfortable at this point.

That is the best case scenario. Does anyone know what the worst case scenario is?

So if I were friends with a man that was a member of the Klan and tried to lynch man long before I knew him, you'd be ok with me being CinC of the most powerful country in the world?

just because Obama's too politically savvy to continue associating with trash or uttering its slogans doesn't mean that he has left the fold of idiots like Ayers and Wright. It's almost childish to assume that he has completely left the folks behind who gave him his start.

Hagee and Parsley - there are two more.

beyond that, let's talk about poor choices and judgment for a minute.

how would you treat a political peer who ruined your campaign by planting a rumor that you fathered an illegitimate baby (black baby, btw, not that should matter, but it does)?

would you then succumb to that person and his base to gain power, or would you stand up for what's right?

The anatomy of a smear campaign - The Boston Globe

well, McCain made his decision. And he chose power.

So should we distrust him also?

actually, this deserves its own thread. starting it now.

I see where you are going but McCain didn't launch his career in any of these mens dinner tables.

Your inclusion of Bush is just silly.

No he didn't, but McCain did receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from Keating in favors and contributions.

I like the smug approach from the lib end as we're electing Jimmy Carter in muslo-Christian white-black clothing.

And Obama received over $120,000.00 from Fannie. In fact he was only beat by one other man WHO HAD BEEN IN OFFICE 20 YEARS!

Not to mention the same agenda Obama supported with ACORN was the exact agenda (subprime loans) that caused this economic disaster!

OBAMA WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM NOT THE SOLUTION!

I don't want to see Palin in the White House for 2 reasons

1) She is a conservative
2) This country would have to be in epically horrible shape for her to be voted in.

Basically, I don't think there is a chance she could win.
