McCullers #8

Dude, I don't mean this to be insulting, but you have no idea what you are talking about. McCuller's may not be making as many tackles as many thought or expected he should, but he has been a space eating monster and never gets pushed back even if he is double teamed. He has been the anchor for the interior of our defense which has been a freaking wall for the most part this season. :peace2:

Not to be insulting but go back and watch the replays of the games he fires off the so slow... I'm nit saying he isn't taking up space but that's all he us doing for the most part... Yea teams may not run right beside him but that don't mean he isn't getting pushed back... Being that big he should be in the back field every time the ball is snaped to be that big and only be taking up space is ridiculous! I'm glad to have him and Yea he is keeping teams from running up the middle but like I said with that size his potential is sky high and all he is doing is taking up space! Given he has made a few good plays in the back field but that's only a few

I cant imagine how anybody can brag about his play. His potential is extremely high. And that will come into play on draft day. But the coaches message concerning his play has been consistent all season, he needs to play better. His technique is lacking (plays too high), his focus and effort is spotty. I think the description reported by a number of people about him is that his personality is that of a gentle giant and he has a problem 'flipping a switch' during games.

That's exactly what I'm saying! He has all the potential in the world being that big... If u was him fire off the ball after the 1at quarter it's so slow! And he goes straight up! I mean when he gets means he does yet in the back field! But it's so rare! If he would play hard every single play he would be amazing!

Big Dan played well in the GA game. I hope he builds on that performance and pushes the cock around.

This may be true but every other coach is scheming against Mac and they are saying it in their interviews. I spent some time watching him and there are times when he takes up both guards and the center. Other times he has made the tackle with one arm off a block. I think he needs a little more consistency but I like him on our team.

I don't see a "project" going #8. He has the size but doesn't have the motor that the NFL expects of a high draft pick. I think he is a mid 2nd to mid 3rd round selection. Someone will take a chance.

Sometimes, volnation confuses me. In most threads I read that we don't have enough talent to compete with any major program and then I come on here and read that we have the next Vince Wilfork on our defensive line (as well as top rated offensive linemen). Weird.

Well...there must be something to it if he's at #8 on this list...along with most of the O-line in the top 100. I think the talent is either young or not there yet, but if we had high octane players at the skills positions and we were winning the big games, then you might agree that these guys are talented.

#8 senior. There will be underclassmen rated higher and also position scarcity in the draft can move draft status up or down. This is a senior ranking and not a mock draft list.

Hope he shows up against Davis.
Need Smith and Vereen on the edges.

Two OL in the top 100...unless you are counting Tiny, who would "probably" be in the top 100 if a senior

Guess they think they can get more aggression out of him than has been so far for the most part.

I know the 3-4 isn't real popular around here, and for good reason, but I actually think Dan looked better playing the NT in that scheme than he has at DT this year. Heck, he trucked UGA's center and chased down and tackled a running Jeff Driskel from behind, and this was when he weighed closer to 380 than his current 350. Regardless, you can bet opposing OCs have to gameplan for him.

They block him with two guys almost every down.

Before the season, he was considered by many, the #3 o lineman in the draft. Not sure if he's dropped any.

I know he's been a clown this season (no pun intended),
but I fear Clowney will try and show up against Tiny this weekend. Especially with the talk about how Tiny handled him last year.

On the other hand if that's true and Richardson prevails... I'm sure his stock will hold firm

I can't believe a guy with a Mets symbol in his profile, has the unmitigated gall to tease a Braves fan about underachieving !!! That's freakin' hilarious !!!

It was all in fun. Most of my friends are Braves fans. As a Mets fan I can honestly say we haven't underachieved, over achieved, or achieved much of anything since '86.

McCullers will be at worst a second round pick.
Pretty mobile 350 #'s are rare. He is definitely raw and needs to
get more of a mean streak. Maturity and sound coaching will
make a difference. He hasn't had a coach push him until this year.
My goodness, if Terrence(the round mound of cellulite) Cody gets a
shot then Shadetree McCullers is going to get a shot.

I'll reserve comment in McCullers' performance until after this weekend. He's going to have to collapse the pocket up the middle if we're gonna have a chance to contain Shaw. Haven't seen it yet this year. Hopefully he steps up and plays a little nasty and gets it done... if he doesn't it'll be very difficult to beat SCar IMO.
