McElroy apologizes

For whatever reason, members of the sports media now seem to be allowed to show their biases in a way that used to never be tolerated. If truth be told, McElroy should've been fired for those comments. It was unprofessional and IMO a breach of the trust that journalists are supposed to earn from their readers/listeners by being an impartial conduit between the athletes and the fans.
Yes, well-said. Different times. Not sure why or how the migration to this change happened, but you hit the nail on the head.

Couldn’t care less.
I’ve yet to watch or even read exactly what he said nor will I watch or read his apology.
His opinion is of no matter to me because...
WE ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!
Sadly, I have but one like to give for getting this phrase right. One of my many pet peeves.

I hear a lot more offensive language every day on broadcast TV. The euphoria of the moment kinda makes us go numb and say things we might not otherwise say.

I haven't seen the whole "apology", but from what I saw on one of the earlier posts, it was a non-apology apology. I suspect, as others have said, he got the order from headquarters to apologize, so that's where the non-apology apology came from.

McElroy is just another one-toothed Bammer who loathes any success by Tennessee. He can kick rocks. I actually had a modicum of respect for the man (?), but that's long gone. His weak apology is obviously one contrived by his bosses. He yearns to be the "next Finebaum". We're laughing at you, Greggie! :confused:o_O

I inserted my quote for this bammer hit job on UT: "If they don't matter, IT don't matter."

You know really, I think the SEC should fire his azz! I used to think he was a PG color guy, welp that's history...

Only reason he apologized is he got an ass chewing. Everybody and their brother jumped on him for acting a fool with his words. The talking heads at ESPN didn’t like his antics since we had just won the MCWS. I apologize after some of the words I say come out wrong too. Especially if I get an ass chewing. That always speeds up the process. Frig McElroy and all the bama hate. They can stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I appreciate the apology. We’ve all said things we regret. With that said, he can still shove it. He’s seen Saban berating players, throwing hissy fits, and acting like a total ass countless times…that was all fine. Nothing to say about that. But a coach being excited and celebrating with his team and fans, after winning it all for the first time, is the one he decided to call out? Yeah, shove it.
I don’t remember ole Greg commenting about the sucker punch the Bama receiver did to a female UT fan after their loss.

"Who done it, who done it, who lowered Ford prices in this town? Bert Brown done it and you'll save money from it, he lowered Ford prices in this town. Now, how many of you guys from the Chatt area remember that one? lol
Vaguely recall Bert Brown from t.v. commercials watched on Chattanooga stations while living in Crossville. Childhood trips to Lake Winnepesaukah & Rock City, too.

Screw him, he was jealous and is a complete ass. He can put his personal feelings and apology and put them where the sun does not shine on him.
