This hire will land with a giant thud in the football World but I think it may be a good hire in the long run. The Gruden, Kelly, McDaniel, other candidates was and is silly. Although, I do think UF could have gotten Schiano but he may prefer the NFL.

Welp. By the void of UF fan posts I imagine this to be a rousing shrug of the shoulders. He could be a Spurrier or he could be a Zook or worst of all Dooley.

I looked at his wiki but couldn't find a direct influence. What coaching tree is this guy's philosophy attributed to? Dick Zornes? I couldn't find a wiki on Zornes from Eastern Washington. The other guy he was under that few would claim is John L Smith whatever that is worth.

I'm sure Nick Saban had a big influence on him.

I can't see McElwain beating out Jimbo Fisher in Florida for recruits. If Florida does this it means continued dominance by FSU.

Hopefully there's an adjustment process that will take place there, say 1 or 2 years? From what I see, CJW finished 10-2 @ Colorado St. and both losses were by a combined 16 pts (Boise St. and Air Force). Prior to his arrival there, CSU had only 1 winning season since 2003. He takes them to back to back bowl appearances. Keep in mind it's not like CSU has been at the top of recruiting so he's obviously implementing his system to the level of his personnel.

The guy may win big at Florida with the resources that state has. If so, we may be ****ed again.

We couldn't beat Muschamp and if Butch is really the bill of goods so many believe then it won't matter who they had hired because we still play Saban yearly any damn way. We just have to get our own **** together or keep working until we do.

True. Hopefully there's tremendous strides made in several areas from 2014 to 2015.

No way is he worse than Dooley. He had 10 wins at a formerly lame program.

Uh, not Boulder.

Boulder is a nice town too. Though, I love the outdoors and spending time in the mountains close by, they are a little to much "peace, love & _____ " for me.

The culture has changed a lot there in the past 10 years.

I don't disagree but in terms of UF standards 5 years of USC or even UGA results would make them pretty miserable. They'll say otherwise but let it play out.
