Meeks Following Jasper?

He's a terrible recruiter Josh Carter, Donald Sloan, DeAndre Jordan, Bryan Davis, Dominique Kirk, Joseph Jones. You'll never win with those kids.

I'm not going to respond to a 16-year-old with the reading comprehension of a dementia patient any further. Nobody on this thread ever said Billy was "a terrible recruiter." Have a nice night, T-Rev.

they darn well better recruit well next season and pray Patterson stays around if they're getting there by 10-11. This class is OK. Majok could make a large difference, but he's not in the bag. Miles and Liggins are solid, but not great and Patterson is unlikely to hang around very long.
He's already put together the base for what will be an epic class in 2010. If Meeks and Jasper decide their vaginas hurt too bad because they were asked to play through injuries that were far less serious than those their teammates gutted through, BCG will love to have those schollies. He already has a commitment from a player that a Final Four coach that told me he's never been more hurt to lose a player, because he thought he was the only one who knew about him in the class of '09.

but you know as well as I that 2010 is a long stretch from here. Additionally, that class will absolutely have to contribute enormously as Freshmen to make it work and be real title contenders. The positive they have going right now is the fact that neither of this group's stars will be leaving early for the NBA.

It's painfully obvious how much TennesseeFan07 has taken the style of hat's posts and tried to recreate it.

TF07, I'm not making fun, but it's obvious

Flemmings signed with UF over the weekend and it looks like Majok just signed with UCONN, as expected. This year's class isn't much of a building block, but to your earlier point, it only takes a couple in hoops.

Are you saying Miller and Liggins can't play? Newsflash: They're both better than Meeks or Jasper.

Unless they make the mistake of attempting to play him at the point, Galloway will be a contributor as well. I'm pretty sure BCG will add those three to Patterson and Stevenson and go from there.

They also lost Crawford and Bradley. At best, IMO, UK has replaced its losses, and nothing more.

I'm saying Miller will be a small forward and is decent, but that Liggins is not ready for Prime Time.

UK needs scoring and neither of the two will be the provider.

Galloway will probably make the biggest impact because they need him the most.

If that crew of 3 is the building block, I like UTs chances for the next few years (because I don't see Patterson staying very long).

I have no doubt that UK has the better coach, just don't like the crew that will be on the floor.

Liggins is better than Miller.
He might very well be, but I don't think either is the type of horse that you build a program around. Liggins has been less than impressive of late, from what I've been reading. Admittedly, I've only seen him once and he was solid, and not spectacular, then.

An in-state player after hiring his recruiter from Illinois and a player who might not qualify. Since November, Gillispie is 1 for ??? on the 3-star JUCOs and has nothing but Ks on the high-school front.

Granted, it's only been one year. I'll give him that.
he'll be just fine over time. I don't like his style of play from a recruiting standpoint, but I like it from a winning standpoint. Winning eventually draws the kids.

If they transfer, The Twin Momuments of Cowardice will be finishing up their careers in '10-'11.

I think that's a little rough on two fairly good players who bought into a completely different situation than the one they are now facing. Both came in under Tubby, suffered through an injury plagued year under a coach that, stated simply, is very different than Orlando T. If they don't like the guy at the helm, they should leave. They are not indentured servants.

I have absolutely no doubt Kentucky will be a championship caliber team in 3 years.

I would be curious to know exactly what Billy G. has done to deserve such faith.

Exactly where has Gillispie ever been that he didn't succeed? Nobody said they were indentured servants. My point is simple. If they are so intestinally challenged that they are offended by being asked to suck it up and play with pain, the door is their best option.

that, I'll agree with. Further, those publicly contemplating departure need to immediately be shown the door.

I didn't say he hasn't succeeded, but winning the WAC or finishing second in the Big XII is a far cry from a championship.

I don't necessarily believe that buying Tubby and getting Billy, then having second thoughts, necessarily makes them "intestinally challenged," whether what BG asked them to do was reasonable or not.

See ya Tyler Smith. Adios Wayne Chism. IIRC, Chris Lofton should have been sent packing a couple of years ago as well.
