Meeks Following Jasper?

See ya Tyler Smith. Adios Wayne Chism. IIRC, Chris Lofton should have been sent packing a couple of years ago as well.
I'd say that testing NBA waters is a bit of a different scenario than homesickness or the coach asked me to play hurt type scenarios.

Let me be more specific: Smith left after committing due to a coaching switch-a-roo; Lofton was considering transferring. Bruce welcomed Tyler back and kept Lofton. I don't think those situations are very different than Meeks' or Jasper's.

At the game in Gainesville, Jasper played with a more-than-noticeable limp. I don't think he should have been out there. There is a line between admirably playing through pain and needlessly risking a major injury. I'm not going to speculate on the depth of their injuries or pain, but I do think it's unfair to label them as intestinally challenged or cowards or whatever.

BCG adds a commitment from Dominique Ferguson, the #8 rated player in the Class of 2010. Yeah, the recruting woes continue in Lexington.

Kentucky is one of those schools that recruits itself. You'd have to work hard to not stockpile talent in Lexington. There's no doubt that BCG will accumulate and maintain top-shelf talent at Kentucky.

I'd like to believe that they'll struggle to recruit and compete for championships up there...but that's nothing more than wishful thinking.

I'd like to see their Final Four drought continue into infinity, but, yeah, that would just be wishful thinking. I don't want to get my hopes up like that.

Given their current recruiting woes, it could end up being about 4 or 5 more years until Kentucky becomes a national contender again.

I guess the term "current" went completely unrecognized. When DeAndre Liggins is your headline recruit for the next two classes (2008 and 2009), that isn't exactly captivating for Kentucky standards. Especially when said prospect is in danger of not even qualifying.

I do agree that Dominique Ferguson and K.C. Ross Miller should both leave a strong impact in Lexington. However, Billy will probably regret giving Dakotah Euton an early offer last summer. The regressing 6-7 sloth from Ashland doesn't look very promising at this point. Look for Billy to add another quality big man for the 2010 recruiting class.

In conclusion, don't be surprised if Vinny Zollo (2011) commits in the coming weeks. The Wildcats could also nab Jon Hood's (2009) verbal sometime over the summer.

Yes and no. To a 30-year-old man, the tradition of Kentucky speaks. To a 17-year-old kid who has no recollection ever being a major player in the FF, it doesn't.

I have few complaints about Tubby, but his inability to recruit (except 2003) consistently led to some dry years.

What I've seen so far from BCG is a tireless worker who's landed some good recruits. So far, it's an improvement.
