Mel Kiper Take on Bray Entering the Draft

The one reason I see bray leaning to the Draft is he'll have to adopt to a new system, with a new coach(s) and his stats won't be near as good dropping him lower in QB rankings. Second he knows his two main go-to-money guys are going leaving him with finding new targets which again will be in a new system.

But even though some NFL teams are in need of QB"s they're also in need of "leaders"...and does anyone on this board think for one minute that Bray could actually be a leader of a NFL Team?

Definitely not a leader. His stats are impressive BUT not against quality defenses. Another thing that is questionable is his ability to read a defense and get out of a bad play call. I think the NFL speed would show the chinks in his armor and he would quickly fall by the wayside.

If Bray had had better coaching he would have been a sure fire 1st rounder this year. Either way he was going to be entering the draft after his junior year.

I heard were Mel suggested he was projected as a 2nd to 3rd round draft pick, but that Bray's hair could propel him late into the 1st round.

You said two go to money guys, but the following were his moneymakers: ZR, JH, and the almighty CP!

That's three homie

Stats!!!!!! Stats don't count for ish. W's in the win column do. Especially sec wins.

exactly. look at uf qb. stats suck and he is inconsistent, but his upside is tremendous. he is way more mentally tough than bray. is used to winning, and has all the tools to be an nfl qb. i hate the Gator, but it's what the scouts look at.

An NFL fullback. See Tebow.

I wish the best for Bray whether it's here or in the NFL next year. My problem with him that he has admittedly not given his all for Tennessee at times. I do feel bad for the turmoil he's had to endure the past 3 years. He did relocate from Cali to Knoxvegas only to have his coach leave a few weeks later.

Not sure the rationale would be try Bray if he stayed which he isn't so mute point. One can have all the stats in the world but the skinny is w's and l's.Sure our defense sucked but at times Bray did too.It helped to have 2 to 3 great receivers who got much positive yardage after the catch.

Look, let's just let him go. The NFL ALWAYS needs a few more clip board holders. Those with more thn a few years doing that finally get the fact they aren't going to make it and figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Bray can do the same gig. He may even find someone else who enjoys throwing beer bottles at cars in the parking lots.

I think our program will be better off if Bray leaves.

I appreciate his time here and I wish him all the best for his future but this is now the CBJ era and time for a fresh start.

CDD got stuck with Bray and has no other real option after laMe kiffScum ran off Tajh Boyd.

I think if that hadn't happened we would have had a serious QB competition and Bray would have been forced to give 100% effort on and off the field.

Time will tell what's going to happen and which juniors decide to leave but we're back in a total rebuilding mode so support our coaches and whatever players are here and keep a positive mindset because it's going to take 3 or 4 more years to get us back on top again.

VFL...GBO!!!

Ditto...but obviously CBJ runs the spread offense.
How well do you think Bray will work out in the spread? Is he mobile enough to keep the spread honest?

Butch Jones offensive is set around the QB's skill set. I think Bray would do just fine if he returned.

Let me guess, you're kind of a casual fan, right?

Don't really pay attention, n stuff?

Let me clue you in on a little fact about football:

See, they have this thing called defense, and like, if your defense is one of the worst in the nation, it's kind of hard for anyone's quarterback to win games.

Mmmkay?

Next time try to think before commenting.

Nevermind the bad coaching decisions that lost a number of those games. (Ala to many men on the field, letting mount cody block 2 consecutive field goals, and a lack of having a kicker for that matter)
I would like to see him and hunter come back. No chance patterson is even considering it.
