Melancon Visiting Alabama

it is simply not possible that choosing Bama over Tennessee would EVER be a good decision
That goes without saying, but kids these days seem to be thinking with their wallet and not with their heads.:p

Maybe Alabama didn't come calling until after he had committed to us and he wanted to see what they had to say. If that is the case is he supposed to decommit from us, make his visit to bama, and then recommit?

he was offered, his buddy luther davis is heading to bama so he is going to take a look. i don't feel good on this one.

i'm with you on this one. You commit after you've taken all of your visits and you are SURE that is where you want to attend college and play football!! if your not sure than wait until signing day

true, it sort of shows the class of person you are getting. you like to see people that are as good as there word. that is the reason miles at LSU sent luther davis packing. when you give your word you should be done, it should be over.

I just heard that we got him. He is going to be a great one. Thanks Vols!

He is still good for his word at the moment. By commiting to Tennessee he didn't promise that he wouldn't take any other visits. If he does decide to go to Alabama after already committing to Tennessee then he isn't good for his word. As for Les Miles, I think it gives him a bad reputation among recruits pull someone's scholly offer because they want to make another visit to a school.

you have a good point as long as this is a fun visit to visit friends nothing more, but i don't think it is. he is going down to hear saban's pitch, i don't like it as a fan, i'm sure fulmer doesn't like it as a coach, and i respect miles a great deal for having the balls to do what he did. a man is as good as his word. you don't tell somebody you bleed orange and then a week before signing day visit the enemy. it sends a bad message.:salute:

Not that I don't believe you, because I really like what you say in this forum. What makes you say this?

Just remaining positive. Of course, I don't know for sure, but I can convince myself that I do. Also, I just remember from reading articles about his recruitment, he never really had any doubt that he wanted to attend Tennessee. IMO, he's all-Vol.

VolinArizona, the above quote from TuskALoosa also helped me realize that Melancon will remain a Vol. If TuskALoosa says it, you can pretty much throw that nonsense out the window.

Do you guys know what happens during these visits? It is all out luxary for these players. The guy is a senior in high school and schools are fawning all over him throwing anything they can at him. Let him soak it in while he can. Maybe the girls at his school just aren't doing it for him anymore so he decided to take another visit to uh get it all out...

That's a little odd and off-put, but I get your point. He may just view it as a paid vacation.

Either way, if the guy didn't follow his friend to LSU, what makes you think he's automatically going to Bama just because his friend is. This is definatly getting silly.
