Memphis is getting Elliot Williams

Wow!!

No Henderson + No Williams = a bunch of unathletic choir boys who live and die by the 3 for Duke next year...

The funny thing about that is they can't even shoot the 3 that well, not to mention Kyle Singler plays out of position.

They were streaky at best last year behind the arc...

And they certainly don't have an inside game to fall back on

Five white guys on the court at the same time. It is a term coined by Bill Simmons. I can't take credit for it.

I want to argue this, but I really can't. The odds of coincidentally ending up with five white starters at a high D-1 school are astronomical. Can't explain it.

They seem to shoot it pretty well during the regular season. But you need athletes to win in the tournament. I find it weird how Duke is able to do well in the regular season (and I would love for someoen to take a stab at this). It isn't like the ACC is weak. There are plenty of athletes in the ACC. But, for whatever reason, they always do well in the regular season and then get exposed in the tournament.

I remember LSU beating them on their run to the final four. LSU just dominted defensively. Nobody on Duke could create their own shot.

Totally agree. I think Brand leaving, Deng leaving, the Shaun Livingston recruitment, etc. made K go for the lesser talented guys. A freshman elite talent will annihilate a senior Brian Zoubek any day of the week, so I don't understand K's logic.

Add to it Maggette and Avery.

- When you live and die by the 3 as duke does you will lose more times than not.
- When you dont go inside to a big man to set things up and control the boards you wont help yourself to a win.
- Sure Henderson and Williams are great players but they cant do it all.
- The only thing thats good about duke is coach K, hes a good coach but seems to be slipping lately.
- The only thing that matters in College basketball is a NC.

Duke was too reliant on J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams was overrated garbage. Tyrus Thomas, Glen Davis, etc. ate them for lunch, no to mention Garrett Temple's D on J.J.

Coach K's team have been able to go with the whitewash the last several years. It isn't coincidental. Coach K has been recruiting white players -- nearly exclusively -- for the past several years. I'm not trying to call him a racist. But the bolded statement is irrefutable.

Shelden Williams is possibly the most overrated college basketball player in the last 10 years.

The only thing that sticks out in my memory about Shelden Williams at Duke was his gigantic forehead. Seriously, it was quite impressive.

That's simply not true. Elliot Williams, Gerald Henderson, Lance Thomas, Eric Boateng, Jamal Boykin, Nolan Smith, and the upcoming class of Andre Dawkins, Joshua Hairston, and Tyler Thornton make your statement absurd.

So if a team has all black players the coach isn't racist, but if he has all white guys he is racist?

I agree, thats one of their biggest.

Until they fix it they will continue to fall short.

Do yall think that Roy is starting to get in his head as far as recruiting, winning and so on?

He's not in the same zip code as Tyler Hansbrough and Stephen Curry in the overrated department.

I disagree on Curry.

I will agree that Hansbrough is wildly overrated, but not as much as Williams.

The difference is that Hansbrough was a very good player hyped as a great player.

Williams, on the other hand, was an above average player hyped as a great player.

Nobody is getting in K's head, he's just too stubborn and wants his kids to stay instead of jumping after a year or two.
