So the tigers at 11-2 with only two losses to #1 and #2 in RPI are not worthy? Maybe

UCF is undefeated and ranked #19. Not worthy? Doubt it

So. Miss has two losses both on the road with a couple of quality road wins and sit at 11-2 also.

UAB has a chance at Duke but will need the conference schedule to make a resume.

I dont know why you think that those four teams cant make the tourney. We wont all make it because we will need to beat each other in order to build a resume but all four have a shot. Even UTEP has a chance but its far fetched.

UCF would be the only team i would put in the field if the tourney started today.

Yea, well there are a lot of ranked teams I wouldnt put in the field if the season ended today. Thats why we schedule games accordingly to seasons end. There are as many legit tourney teams in CUSA this year as there are in the SEC. Im sorry you cant see that.

Yeah if UAB is a tournament team. Who schedules games according to seasons end BTW? That doesnt even make any sense.

The SEC has at least 6 teams that would contend for the CUSA title.

UK (would win CUSA)
Vandy (strong maybe)
UT (maybe)
Georgia (soft maybe)
Florida (aren't they already 0-1 in CUSA play?)
USC (no way)
SEC West (get serious)

Please watch some basketball before commenting. The SEC is Weak, with a capital W-E-A-K, this year.

CUSA has four potential tourney teams in Memphis, UCF, So. Miss, and UAB. All four of those teams have a legit chance of making the dance however not all four will since we all play each other twice. I personally think So. Miss will win the conference this year. They play a very physical aggressive type ball and Eustachy is a good coach. We will not have the cake walk we have had in years past.
You sound like Calipari during his Memphis days trying to hype up C-USA. UCF and Memphis are the only options for the tourney.

Memphis won't run through the conference because they aren't as good/experienced as the 04-09 Tigers. The conference itself isn't THAT much better.

The difference is, this year the conference actually is better.

Currently 6 SEC teams in the RPI Top 100.

Currently 6 CUSA teams in the RPI Top 100.

From 05-09, CUSA was lucky to have 2 teams in the RPI Top 100. What exactly is your definition of better?

If tennessee ever gets back to playing the type of basketball they have already proven they are capable of playing they would sweep C-USA. Kentucky would go 15-1( they do play 16 games right) Vandy would go 13-3. Florida would go 13-3 at worst. Georgia would go 11-5. Arkansas would be 10-6 at worst. Miss would be 10-6 at worst. If the SEC and CUSA combined 8 of the top 10 would be from the SEC. the SEC is not very strong but it is still much much stronger than C-USA

It is actually not an accident. Lapides had the C-USA Director of Basketball (or some similar title) on and he explained their theory. He had the typically worse teams in the conference play a much easier OOC schedule to build up wins. This way when the bigger boys (Memphis, UCF, etc.) play the Rice or Tulanes of the conference, it won't kill the big boys' RPI. I didn't know that it doesn't matter what the opponents RPI is.....it is the opponents W-L record that affects Memphis/UCF's RPI.

The Director guy explained that this is why some of the lower teams in the conference are 6-4 instead of 2-8 for instance (made up records, just used for an example).

I hate our conference commish but he a had a good idea with that. Basically he made everyone schedule teams at home they could beat based on last seasons RPI. Even compelled some of the weakest teams to play non D1 opponents so that it doesnt count at all in the RPI win or lose. Im not really arguing about the conference as a whole but the top-6 teams this year have as many good wins as the SEC top-6 with similar records.

No way the wins are as good as the top 6 SEC teams. Keep dreaming.

I didnt refer to the quality of each win. I was referring to the quantity of good wins. No one can match either of UTKs wins however as a conference we have done a good job beating quality opponents unlike the seasons past. UAB gets a shot at DUKE tonight too. Hopefully they can make it a game but I doubt it.

If you aren't talking about the quality of the wins, then obviously they don't have as many good wins.

The best win CUSA has is florida. I looked at your "top 4 NCAA tournament temas" and the ONLY really quality win is florida.

...and Miami (RPI 22) who is only 5 slots behind Villanova, and has a better SOS than Pitt and Nova.

Are you referring to the Little Brother who has WON 32 NCAA tournament games while Big Brother has only PLAYED in 37?

Are you referring to little brother who has a losing record against big brother?
