Are they trying to keep their automatic BCS bid? By adding essentially Boise State and UCF? I guess Houston....

did the BE lower their academic standards? If not that will suck for Memphis St

Explain how the impact on UT would be immeasurable? Is simply because it would be a qualitative effect, and you were being literal with the word immeasurable? Or were you being sarcastic? Or do you actually believe this would affect UT?

Dooley won't be able to recruit there. They will all want to go play in the Big East

Memphis can't win in CUSA. Why in the world would they submarine their only athletic program worth a crap by giving up the built-in advantages of C-USA and become a bottom feeder in the Big East?

In basketball we might actually see how good memphis is playing in a decent conference.

The impact on UT and the SEC could be immeasurable.

Is the move to the Big East going to mean that UM routinely beats UT for Memphis football players now?

No.

Does the move affect UM's ability to retain Memphis basketball talent? Minimally.

Will equal more dollars for UM athletics, but its football team still won't routinely compete for recruits over SEC schools and it won't really help basketball recruiting a ton, either, as Pastner does a really good job already. Big news for UM, though, and if I were a Memphis fan I'd be happy about moving to a better conference all around.

I root for Memphis to do well, until they play or recruit against UT directly. Same with Vandy. Great city, great people, gets a bad rep. (some for good reason)

Wow, Memphis to a BCS bowl within 5 years? A bit optimistic, but I can't fault the rationale.

Didn't mean it like that. Just to show how bad Cincy was in the CUSA and how they turned up. Memphis in a BCS bowl will never, ever happen.
