...and don't tell me how great a coach Bruce Pearl is ever again.

If losing to Auburn on a crazy buzzer beater was bad, losing last night to LaSalle 98-96 in triple OT just flat out sucked. These poor guys can't catch a break.

Very excited for new Bears tomorrow. FCS signing day is a little different because you never know who may get poached by an FBS school last minute. It looks like Bears have two TN commitments. We'll see what happens. Go Bears.

I really haven't paid much attention until last year when Kyle Lewis was lighting it up-to-date but they're really good. Mercer is one of something like 5 or 6 teams nationally that have won 35 games each of the past 8 seasons.

I was there.

The most surreal moment of the game . . . midway though the 1st quarter, Mercer goes up 14-0 and there's a long TV timeout and they have Miss America come onto the field to sing Amazing Grace. It just might have been the most out of place performance in the history of the world. lol

...and BTW, Mercer has a redshirt freshman playing QB that looked like Cam Newton back there.

I watched on ESPN3 and listened to Rick & Roger on IHeartRadio. It was funny to hear them talk on air about how many people were under Jim Cole's tent by the volleyball court when the rain started to fall heavy. They do a pretty good job creating some visual connections. It was also amusing to hear Emory Dunn when they put the headset on him for a bit after the game. Emory and I were on the old lacrosse team together for a season in the mid 90s.

I wish they'd televised the new bridge lighting celebration thing. I guess I'll have to go to MaconGa for that.

Rick Cameron is as folksy as it gets, but he really does a good job.

I know Emory too. His son is in the same class as my youngest son.

The Wofford loss was kind of heartbreaking if only because for once we had a lead in this type of game rather than pulling up just short of a big comeback. Not too much shame in losing by 1 point to a school that's top 10 at your level of play though.

I was really impressed that we hung with Auburn so long. It was a one score game with less than 5 minutes left. If you'd told me that AU would still have their starters in in the 4Q, I would've thought you're nuts. Defense was super hawkish. Just a really impressive performance.

ETSU, we're ready.

ETSU had the momentum going into OT. Good win for them. I'd hoped we'd continue moving forward this season but I think we just lost too many 4 year contributors and this is closer to a rebuild than a reload.

Today's the day we get a chance to try and make Goliath choke on a cupcake. Probably going to ugly since Bama needs style points with the playoff committee voters.

Hard to believe, but this is the first I’ve heard about this. My son is a Junior there and he constantly tells me that the gender stuff on campus is getting nuttier by the day, but this seems pretty benign.
