Meyer fined $30,000!!!

Yep, but I don't recall Swtizer winning another Super Bowl two seasons later, and being the favorite to win a third.

But yes, clearly what Saban has done is much more impressive to this point.
Do what. This is about taking over and winning with someone else's team.

That's fair.

I'll take a championship in year two versus going undefeated and losing to the eventual national champs in year two.

We can agree to disagree.

That was a softball right down the middle if I have ever seen one. Way to hit it out of the park.
I saw that coming while I was typing it. The point still stands. Coaches who have achieved less got to the top faster. Winning the fast national title doesn't mean you will dominate forever.

true..but its like putting a square peg in a round hole when you have someone like Leak trying to run the spread offense..Meyer showed what kind of a coach he was that season running a hybrid of his system
He showed that in the national championship game only. Florida spent the rest of the season struggling on offense.

This is highly debatable. Florida is by no means the team they were last year.

Kiffin strikes again. He got Slive mad enough to say he would fine the next coach who criticizes officials. So far, Kiffin has complied, but Urbie walked smack into it. He must be FURIOUS at CLK. Kiffie threw the line in the water and set the hook on Urbie. It can't get any better than this.

How about winning another two seasons later, and being a favorite to win 3 in 4 years?

Would you consider a coach like that to have some sort of staying power?

In the end, nobody's arguing that the guy isn't one helluva coach. He is. The point is that he's a whiny, effeminate douchebag who nuzzles his QB and gets favored status from the conference czar.

So he improved from the regular season to the championship game....sounds like there was some good coaching involved there.

Hey UF dudes, why don't you get your panties out of a wad just because some think Saban is a better coach and what he did was more impressive in his first few years. You're doing a piss poor job of convincing people otherwise it seems..

Yes, but I still haven't seen anything to indicate that he can dominate Lane Kiffin or Nick Saban.
