Meyer placed on administrative leave. No joke!

So...3 things:

1) If Peterno didn't survive the Sandusky scandal, then Urban shouldn't survive this.

2) Yet, I somehow see him still being the coach, or still coaching somewhere. Urban feels like he has had way more than 9 lives.

3) The fact that OSU is doing the investigation and not the NCAA is what leads me to think #2.

Posters saying LK are out of their mind. They aren’t hiring a coach with questionable ethics after having to fire their last two coaches for ethics issues. PR disaster.

With Urban circling the drain, are there any recruits he pulled or that he's recruiting that we think we might legitimately have a better shot at that we probably wouldn't of otherwise? I try to follow most of the recruitment to the best of my ability and I know we had a few undecided kids we were in the mix for with OSU in their top 3-5 like Darnell Wright but surely some of these kids and especially their parents are really second guessing their recruitment there. Either from a moral standpoint or at the very least a lack of confidence in OSU moving forward. Urban and his coaches pretty much build them into what they are solely by himself and if they lose him I would be hard pressed to believe they live up to the hype they were given.

Wait people thought I was posting fake news? lol It's been plastered all over the tv and web for hours now. The gross thing is listening to their fan base trying to justify and exonerate him simply because they can't stand their precious team possibly being crap if he gets booted and they're willing to turn a blind eye for the sake of wins. The evidence is damning that he knew one of his coaches was beating his wife and lied about it to cover it up. But that aside, what about my question in the initial post?

I’m actually very surprised they are going to can him. He truly was their golden child. But then again, I was shocked that UGA had the stones to fire Mark Richt so maybe I’m just naive.

Probably because in the off chance it becomes something even bigger they don't want to walk the same path Penn State did. Yes I realize that was far worse circumstances. You also have to think maybe the NCAA had a hand in nudging them to this action.

The media applauds Ohio State for this move because he might have known about domestic abuse

But when Tennessee turns away a coach who confessed to witnessing a child be molested...
To be fair HE didn’t confess. Mcqueary did it for him in secondhand fashion.

My post was mainly a jab at the fact they didn't make Schiano acting HC after all the crap we were given at him being such a great option for UT. Not implying that anyone not living under a rock had not heard about this.

As for your question, recruits who decided to go there probably did so to be on a team already loaded up and in a position to win. If they jump ship it may be to a similarly situated program. I don't think this will directly lead to many, if any, recruits for UT.

Wasn't referring to you my man, no worries. As to the other part, you have to imagine there are a few football moms who, assuming they believe this is true are not cool with their son's playing under a man who beats his wife...Momma's opinion goes a looooong way.
