I'm not complaining about the waiting...I'm complaining about the theatrics...from a kicker none the less...
But I agree with kpt...there will come a time when he is under unbelievable pressure to make a kick...so he should have his fun while he can
Hardly...
1.) A QB
2.) 4-7 O-linemen
3.) 4-5 D-linemen
4.) LB's
5.) Playmakers at WR
6.) DB's
7.) Placekicker
Those may be slightly out of order by I'm certain the placekicker is no higher than 5th on that list...
And to say he's one of the best to come out in a while is a bit of a stretch...considering how hard it is to judge what a kickers got between his ears (which is every bit as important as how far he can kick it)...
Ever played chess? It's all about the setup. That's what special teams do for a team...sets you up in a bad position or a good one.The offense has just as much to do with field position as special teams...Just saying.
Humor me then...
'X' on Tony Basilio...
"While I agree signing a quarterback is a priority for the class and wide receiver or tight end commitments probably don?t start happening until we receive a public commitment from a quarterback, it is my opinion that signing a place kicking specialist who can come in and contribute in 2010 is just as if not more important than a quarterback to this class."
"Again, securing a commitment/signing from a prospect the caliber of Mike Palardy is just as important as is one from a high -profile quarterback."
Overdoing it a little, I think, but still closer to the truth.

This kid is money to set up the defense in a good position EVERY time. Can't remember when we had someone like that. Not on punts AND kickoffs too

You really hate kickers dont ya...This kicker will single handily win us 8-10 gms. in his tenure here...How many gms are won fgs.? Last yr. it would have picked us up an extra win or two. The kicking game is very important and your downplaying it shows your ignornance and shows that you really know nothing about football
I hate theatrics from 17 year olds who've been told by too many people that they're awesome...
And I guarantee I know as much about football as you and most on here...
8-10 games? Single handedly? And you're calling me ignorant about football...
So he's going to throw the passes and makes the blocks and catch the passes and make the moves that get us into position to kick that FG huh?
He's going to make the 3rd down tackle or the interception that gets us the ball back so our offense can make the plays to get him into position to make the kick?
Know nothing about football...give me a break...I've forgotten more about football than you know
