Michael Sam, Missouri DE, Is Gay

Why make sexual orientation a sports related issue? If not for the attention and Fame.

It's an issue because sports is his chosen profession. The media, the public at large, and certainly you wouldn't care if Michael Sam was about to go into finance, dentistry, or sales. And it's not simply about "celebrity" status; no one would bat an eye if he were an actor or a musician.

But sports is one of the last, if not the very last, public arenas where someone still had to be the first. And that's because sports is one of the last bastions of stereotypical masculinity.

In the end, you may be right: Sam may be doing this all for the attention. But it's not impossible for him to have a completely unselfish motivation, whether or not you recognize it.

Alright. Good post.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you. But what's so wrong with having one bastion of stereotypical masculinity?

Why is there such an attack on masculinity?

No place for the Stallone's, Norris's anymore?

The world seems so sensitive and weak now from that perspective.

I feel that's the problem. Those last remaining masculine tough men out there feel impeded on. It was thee last pure, competitive, tough thing they can do with other men that has nothing to do with homosexuality being in the spotlight.

Society and political correctness is weeding out masculinity

They are already trying to neuter us. Look at low testosterone rates.

Straight men feel their masculinity and their football is being threatened.

So they get angry and act like haters.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I hope someone like Michael Sam helps dispell the stereotype that gay men can't be masculine.

If some dude feels that his masculinity is threatened by the mere presence of a gay man on the field, then he was never very comfortable in his masculinity to begin with.

Scared of what might go down in the dogpiles IMO. "Giving him the business" just got a whole new meaning.. :)

I'm grossed out by the idea of morbidly obese men and women having sex.

I vehemently oppose fat sex....fatties shouldn't have sex because it's repulsive.

Hear me now and believe me later...if it were up to me, fat people sex would be against the law. They might break something...or worst case send a message to my kids it's okay to get really fat, then attempt to have disgusting fat people sex.

I'm sure there's a bible passage out there opposing gluttony, so God's got my back on this.

Bible verses that oppose sex period, even under marriage. but nobody wants to talk about those...

as for bamawriter, I pretty much agree with everything he's said. I'd comment on snake's idiotic ramblings, but I feel he'd claim that he was being ganged up on and that's why he would lose the debate.

I'd never claim anything. ()

Yeah, bamawriter definitely got the best of snake the past several pages.

Remember that there's always going to be ridiculous people against you (I'm assuming you're gay from your post), but there are always going to be many people in your corner, supporting you as well. Keep your chin up!

Lol no I'm not gay, but I live with gay people witch I feel like I have to defend them. What I ment by I wish I could accept myself is I wish I could accept myself as I am just like my gay uncle accepted his self when he hated to be gay.

This was a nice sight from halftime of one of Missouri's basketball games

Jason Collins played in an NBA game last nite, making him the first openly gay player to participate in any of the major sports in the US.

Despite what many on here were predicting, none of Collins' teammates reported being sexually assaulted, raped, or otherwise harrassed in the locker room.

Link to those predictions?

I'm not very smart. Please quote the rape, assault, etc comments for me. I'm not bright enough to find them

Use the search function. Put in this thread title and look for posts by goldvol or snake_anthony.

Careful, many of their posts are NSFW.

Do not come back saying "I don't see it..." because I really don't care if you're blindly defending idiots just because you agree with them.
