Michigan Will Kill Us If We Switch Screens...

Would not a 2-3 zone be better than man to man?

Not in this case. They have little post game, so we can push the d out and let the bigs guard the paint. It's the way we started the season. Good shooting teams kill zones.

Exactly. When we're not switching, BW always picks up a couple cheap fouls being late on the hedge, or he just lets the PG turn the corner on us. Stating that Brian Williams is a good hedger is about the most damning statement of not having a clue as any I've seen in a while. UTIE needs to stick with pretending he knows everything about the KO situation.

Brian Williams never chases a PG around up top picking up cheap fouls as you profess. He slides up, sags back, gets caught in the middle and gets his head on a swivel trying to figure out where to go. You're claim that Michigan will win by having some circus routine of BW chasing a PG around up top is plain ridiculous.

Keep making ridiculous threads and expect to get called on them.

As for the KO situation, when you get in the real world you'll learn the hard way that there are multiple ways to get fired. One is getting your walking papers. The other is to have an employer make life so miserable you give up and self terminate. I'm sure you'll have both happen to you frequently. (if you are who you say you are, i've asked what central time zone law school you attend with no answer not surprisingly)

As for any other KO situation, no matter how much you defend hatvol's honor, KO is still a .500 coach that's been fired at nearly every job he's ever had.

Do what? Every team in the SEC runs the gig ball screen with their best post player and PG because we switched the screen so much. We went to the Ice disaster to avoid it. The ice essentially becomes a trap and we have no prayer of executing that.

I agree. But that's not what the OP created this thread about. He specifically points out Brian Williams switching on top screens. BW never moves out past the FT line. Now, if we're talking about Tobias, Scotty, and Tatum getting abused on screens by oposing post players, that's a discussion worth having.

That's actually a really good point. I'm not really sure of any comparable size Big 10 arenas. If you know any, please share and we'll check their shooting percentages in that arena.

OSU's isn't as big - but it's similar.

Well, it isn't a good sign that our scout team looked so good yesterday running the Michigan offense. If they can run it so well, wonder why we don't run their offense against them. It is sure better than the half-court effort we have going.

I think it could be a good sign. At least the staff knows for sure now that the usual way of defending screens won't work (hopefully they knew that beforehand).

It's possible that with the extra day of prep time, CBP wanted to give the team an idea of what would happen if they just ran through the motions on defense and did what was familiar. Hopefully they'll now do a better job with whatever the staff is putting in place to deal with Michigan's system. If it wasn't intentional by the staff, hopefully it still serves the same purpose.

Shockingly, you've totally missed the point of the thread in your attempts to be a prick. I didn't say Brian Williams constantly switches screens. I said he's not good at hedging, and Pearl would have a decision to make when Morris starts killing us with ball screens and that I hoped it didn't include switching screens. I even noted that we haven't switched as much this year. That was the discussion.

As for me being in law school, I couldn't possibly care less whether you believe I'm there or not. If you think I'm not, it would just be another thing in a long line of things that you claim to know about that you have no idea.

You make some arguable points in this thread - and in fact contradict yourself as you already pointed out. Too bad you resort to personal name calling when called to task.

I was only curious about where you are in school as a Vol fan in law school in the central time zone as you previously pointed out to me regarding the timing of your post. Using a screen name as you have certainly makes it odd you want some veil of secrecy.

No big deal. I'll be watching for Brian to switch on those 5-1 screens Friday.

Find where I contradict myself. It's an easy answer; I didn't.

The only reason this is my screen name is because Lane Kiffin left UT, and I was forced to change it. I was early in my first year, so I decided to make that my screen name. I don't nor have I ever touted how I'm in law school as making me some kind of expert at anything, so get off of it. If you want to know details of where I'm at in law school and more personal information about me, shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to discuss it.

I read your OP analysis and later retraction of us using a 5-1 switch this season as playing both sides of the arguement. I guess I misread.

No worries. Too bad you were forced to change your screen name. Good luck in finishing school.
