Mike Edwards - Football Recruiting

Scout.com: Mike Edwards Profile

Didn't see that he was offered nor had much interest prior to now.

Edwards will take officials to Michigan and Tennessee. May visit Illinois or Minnesota but is not real excited about taking more officials.

He's in Glenville along with Marcus Hall. It is starting to appear that somebody(s) has possibly paid a visit to Cleveland.

Glenville High School is a huge recruiting ground for Illinois. They already have 2 kids committed from that team. He's supposed to go over to Illinois in January and is expected to commit there. But who knows what CLK has in mind. That school produces talent year in a year out

Canceled his visits to Illinois and Minnesota.

Although OSU already has a bunch of highly rated CBs in this class so they may not be going after this guy too hard.

Supposedly Big10 teams are laying off of edwards becuase of his grades. Illinois boards say it could come down to Cincy and UT

Traditionally, Glenville High School stand-outs stay in the Big 10 region, but Edwards said he might be the one to set a new precedent.

"I might be the guy who bucks the trend and heads south," Edwards said. "Tennessee is a big school and a good school. Not many guys from around here have ventured into the SEC. I am interested in doing so."

Says he is very interested in playing for Monte.

We don't need another DB. Tell him thanks but no thanks. Plus what makes you all think that he is any good? I know his high school sends alot of players to OSU, but I'm not impressed. OSU gets their clocks cleaned every year in the bowl games. I'll take a player south of the Mason/Dixon line every time.

Sorry to tell you but the Glenville athletes can compete in the South. Ray Small, Donte Whitner, Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr. I don't know what your looking at but these guys can fly and play with the best at they're position. Ray Small would be a star at Florida. They also produced a DE by the name of Robert Rose that is a heck of an athlete but he's not being used right by the Buckeyes. Watching this guy he will be a great corner for us. Has got some great physical tools. And he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Uhhhh what has Ray Small ever done besides have his dad try to accuse The Senator of trying to ruin his sons career?

Yeah? Ok, he's fast and? It doesn't matter if you dont run good routes, and don't go full out when you know you aren't getting the ball.

And oh yeah, 46 catches for 480 yards and 3 TD's in the Big Ten just screams All American WR to me. BTW, those are career numbers, not from this season.

And we have no one on our squad better. Would you take G.Jones over R.Small?
