It's not "mud" if it's true. As far as my "fidelity", I'll take my chances that I'd fare just fine in a comparison to Bruce Pearl on that issue. Of course, so would Bill Clinton and Charlie Sheen.

Witch Doctor say this isnt limited to just Vol boards. Witch Doctor say cruise any other teams site and its about the same. Witch Doctor guess Pearl and Co. may have been checking out the temperature of the "room" after his presser and read some of this. Seriously doubt recruits read teams sports boards in helping decide where to attend college/play sports...

Of course that's the case. He knows Griffith will carry that crap to the world in hopes of quelling the doubters. I think issue is about the rumor stupidity, but Griffith tried to broaden it.

This is the time for Pearl and Co. to shut up, go play basketball, and be thankful that the university continues to cut them a check.

I will be pleased when the Knoxville media no longer does the bidding for UT coaches. They did it for Phil, now they are doing it for Bruce. I've never seen anything quite like it.

If a recruit did happen to read this board, I hope they would realize how important UT basketball is for most UT fans. We love football, but I guarantee you that basketball is a very close second to most of the UT fanbase. Take a look at average attendance to basketball games.

And if we ever win a championship, the UT fanbase would explode. Look at how happy we got when we made the elite 8.

Well, they do acknowledge that Pearl has brought attention to himself and his program and are likely to suffer more sanctions from the NCAA.

I mean, c'mon... they need all the help they can get through this storm. So just ask yourself if the criticism is constructive at all??? Does it hurt or help? I have a hard time seeing how it can do anything but hurt.

I disagree. Volnation is probably the best source for news about the Vols. People are exposed to every single angle here. I thought the Tennessean was bad, then I read the KNS. Honestly, the Daily Beacon probably better.

You are correct. We have all had the opportunity to express our concerns about Pearl's actions and their impact on our program. Fact is, he is our coach and I, for one, want this season to be successful. I will never respect Pearl, but if he remains our coach, I want him to be as successful as possible. If he is successful, our program is successful---simple as that.
