Mike Gundy looks to be hired by Arky

gundy's been a helluva recruiter at osu, but its his neck of the woods. move him a thousand miles east and not so much. we need somebody who doesn't have to re-invent the wheel.

When has Gundy been a good recruiter? OSU has finished in the top 30's or 40's in recruiting every year he has been coach. With just a few 4 stars and mostly 3 star player. That is not good enough to get it done in the SEC.

You have now become my least favorite poster. All you do is ***** about stuff you have no clue about. I guarantee you're under the age of 27.

Do you have to be 27 or older to blindly trust an AD that clearly doesn't know what the eff he is doing? If so, then I guess I'll feel similarly in January when I turn 27.

Okay guy.

You can spin it whatever way you wish to fit your agenda, but these tweets are from a reporter from the Oklahoman that covers Oklahoma State football. Not some random twitterer.

So now it is public that cow college Gundy finds our job unappealing, for various reasons. Hart was a dipshi*t for pursuing that clown in the first place, and even more utterly incompetent for letting him call our job unappealing before we hired our own coach.

Still no proof that he said that. Do you believe everything you read in the Knoxville media? And before you call Hart names, I'm going to need to see references for all the national coaching searches you've conducted. What's that? None? That's what I thought.

My God.

The great news for all of us is that it appears Gundy won't be the next coach of the Vols.

The bad news is that Hart has allowed yet another PR failure to tarnish UT's reputation and prestige in the college football community.

Yet he took those 3 stars and beat UGA by three touchdowns a couple of years ago. We have averaged about 13th over the last 3 years. What do you think would happen if we played OSU? Do you think Les Miles was pulling in top five classes at OSU. Nope.

Yes because 15-21 and genius fans like yourself had us right at the forefront of national respect. Do you know for a fact that Hart offered Gundy? Of course you dont. Unless you're sitting in the CEO office at Pilot headquarters, you should just calm down and let it play out. Neither you nor I know what's going on.

Seriously? A PR failure...tarnish UT's reputation...give me a break. All this based on one of a thousand RUMORS. Absolutely asinine to think Hart has the ability to control the thoughts of others.

I think you've let this search rot your brain.

Personally, I do not want a coach that is playing UT vs. another school for ^^$$. Either he wants to be here or not. Squeezing one school vs another over money makes you nothing more than a ho. I want someone committed b/c of the tradition. If Gundy comes to UT b/c the contract was slightly better (both UT and AR will have similar $ overall), what happens if someone else w. a bigger check book comes calling in the next few years? It would appear on the surface that he wants the job for the wrong reson.

Nothing personal but this is a mildly ridiculous post. You want Gundy to come here because he wants to be here and not because of increased pay? How does that make sense considering he was QB for OK ST? Why would he want to be at UT over his own school if not for increased pay, at least that has to be a large factor. You are not going to convince a guy from the big 12 that the SEC has that much more tradition than Texas, Okl, Okl St. If he is going to leave his alma, then you can be sure money has to factor into it. Why should he have more allegiance to UT than to Arky at this point? Both programs have lots of money and facilities. Tradition is overrated in coaching choices. Ark has more recent success and overlaps more of the same recruiting areas he is used to. If he doesn't use the current interest in his coaching services to his financial advantage, then I would question his intelligence.

I would say Hart has hire done. He may be holding off until the HOF induction. Don't want to overshadow Fulmer's day.

It amazes me how many times we have been down this road and it's always the same way and you always have gullible people who believe anything and always cry like 5 year olds...did I mention ALWAYS...its this way every time coaches are hired...laugh at yourselves and settle down...you got Hart as a nazi AD who doesnt know what he's doing and got 7-11 cashiers ranting on here about what should and shouldnt be done....BUT it is a great source of entertainment for me so keep it up.....

Truth. Every damn word.

Mike's put on a few pounds...wouldn't you say? :)

I don't blindly trust Dave Hart. More proof of your immaturity - if you don't agree with GoBigOrangeVols, you can only be someone who is blindly trusting the AD. Nothing in between.

I can tell you're under 27 because 4-5 years ago, I had the same cocky, knowitall attitude. I would have hated dealing with me then, so I know where you're coming from. Just stop being a pissant and have civil, open debates. It's not hard. I've admitted when I've been wrong on VN numerous times. For all of us, relax, say your points, and go on. All this melodramatic BS is annoying.
