Mike Matthews coming out party

The cycle of offensive suck: WR can't catch the balls because the QB cannot throw >>> QB can't throw because OL / RB cannot block >>> OL / RB cannot block because WRs are too slow to get open >>> WRs are too slow to get open
Don't forget play calling.

Sometimes the play is doomed before it even starts.

You can see why OU fans weren't that sad when Heupel was let go. They immediately improved with (USCs current coach)

Sometimes Heupel gets into these routine play calling fits, and it stumps his offense.
How many times are we going to run up the middle???
Why are waiting almost 2.5 seconds before any receiver opens up??? That's route assignment not skill.

75% of the problem is play calling...
It's terribly average. It's timid and breeds the wrong kind of energy. The same BS we saw at the end of year 1 with Heupel.

We have too many weapons to put just 14 points on Arkansas. 25 on OU.
Trash play calling.

Jeremiah Smith Ohio State

Matthews looked ready vs Kent State. You could tell he was a different breed on that kick-off return and those two catches.

Here's the thing. Outside of Squirrel - our WRs are making plays when given the chance.
Thornton has been catching deep passes all year

It's PLAY CALLING and a SHOOK QB.

Where's Ethan Davis?????

Mike Matthews looks ready, but so are the other guys in front of him. Nico just can't get them the football, (blocking, scared, slow development in pass routes)
100% agree. & they gotta start getting ethan davis involved or he is gone after this year for sure

There’s some truth here, but a little harsh IMO.

With the injuries to our more experienced receivers, I see a MM coming out party Saturday night. While Squirrel, Bru and Thornton are not listed as out for the game, I suspect they will be limited, opening the door for the youngster.
Nope..All will play and play often. Would like to see him get a few more opportunities though.

Play calling has little to do with it
