Mike Matthews to portal? [He’s staying]

They run poor routes and are lazy. That’s coaching. Funny how Brazzell looked really good at Tulane. Comes here and looks like crap. Thorton looked good at Oregon. Came here and looked like crap. Why? The coaches played him at the wrong position. That’s coaching.

Hyatt wasn’t good his first few years. Then the coaches helped him with hitting the jugs machine and worked on his hands. Boom. Bilitnekoff winner. At the college level, the relationship between players and their position coaches is huge. It’s not like the NFL. If the WRs don’t like Pope, that’s a huge problem. You ever hear players say they hate Garner? Inge? Martinez? Elarbee? Sims? No you don’t. Now players have said sometimes they hate that Garner coaches so hard. But not that they don’t like him.

You can discredit coaching all you want. You think the WRs at OSU don’t like Hartline? Come on man.
Liking him has nothing to do with it. You're in your feelings. Sorry I'm not taking the word of a bum who was onlybrevryited here so we could get his younger brother. Thornton had his best year yet this year, not at UO. Also, if you think the difference between OSU'S WRs and ours is their fondness of their position coach, then you're as delusional as you sound

Again…. The people I know are basketball….and they’re boosters so not really inside information…..but it’s my understanding that they gave him what he was asking for and it’s still up in the air. Timing means he’s in the portal. But this isn’t over yet, it’s also my understanding that we’ve gone as high as we’re going to and feel good about other options.

I guess we’ll all find out the reality soon enough
If we met his price/terms and he's still not in the boat, I'd move on. Clearly the kid wants even more money or he just isn't sold on being here. Probably be like the DL that kept threatening to leave them started bouncing from school to school. 5 star....pfft.

Tennessee receiver Dont'e Thornton officially declared for the NFL Draft on Monday afternoon following the end of his senior season in Knoxville. Thornton is out of college eligibility after starting his career in 2021 and not redshirting in any of his four seasons.
Yet he declared for the draft. Some of these self absorbed kids makee shake my head.

I mean it's pretty common. I would think the majority of college athletes, particularly at the FBS level, will declare for the draft, even if they run out of eligibility. Not sure why it bothers people so much.

You're on your knees for a kid who doesn't even know you exist. At least wipe your mouth off son. You're so mad about him leaving that you ignore the obvious signs. If he's so good and smart then why didn't he get on the field more? You can't answer that

And you are making wild assumptions about an 18 year old kid that you don't even know, without having an ounce evidence of whether or not it is true. It makes you look petty and weak.

No one except the coaches know why he wasn't utilized more. The only thing we do know is that he was hurt a good bit to start the year and he played more as the season went on. But never really made a strong impact when he was healthy. Of course, none of our receivers played particularly well this year. That suggests more of a coaching issue than anything else.

Exactly. No eligibility left so what else was he going to do? But by all means be sure to announce it.
Uhh get a real job like 75% of other college athletes. They have to put their name in or else they can't be drafted. Acting like it's some big deal or that he's full of himself for it is stupid beyond belief
