Just have to agree to disagree. While I think all those things are positive actions I don't think anything but #3 is realistic. The only thing that will deter illegalls from crossing is if conditions in the US were equal to or worse than the third world country that they're leaving. We don't let people die because of lack of medical care here, or die of starvation. There is simply no way to eliminate the draw to the USofA. If you jailed people for hiring or housing them, then the jails would be full of white collar criminals, exactly what we are try to stop with pot users imprisoned now.

The only way to curtail illegal immigration is a barrier of some sort.

Illegal Alien Accused of Murdering 28-Year-Old Oklahoma Mother Paige Gomer

An illegal alien has been accused of murdering 28-year-old Paige Lane Gomer, an Oklahoma mother of one, in a shooting last week, according to local authorities.

Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, allegedly shot and killed 28-year-old Gomer in a shooting on March 21. Police have said Ontiveros has admitted to shooting Gomer, and the alleged murder is still being investigated.

Ontiveros has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing Gomer, who leaves behind her young 2-year-old daughter, her parents, her brother, and her grandparents. Ontiveros is not eligible for bond and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has placed a detainer on him.

Gomer is the latest American to be allegedly killed by an illegal alien living in the U.S. Most recently, an illegal alien from Guatemala allegedly killed 48-year-old mother of two and school teacher Sonya Jones of Mobile, Alabama. Likewise, an illegal alien in Nevada has been accused of murdering four Americans, and 22-year-old Pierce Corcoran was killed in a hit-and-run crash allegedly caused by an illegal alien from Mexico.

My point is that the guys sitting in the corner office who turn a blind eye to illegals working for them wouldn't when they might have to pay the price with their freedom. No work no illegals.

I like the idea of large, $10000 or more fines for each case of an illegal worker, in addition to what you stated. Make the risk of hiring illegals so high that it becomes extremely unattractive to anyone who would think of doing it.

Illegals come here and pay very little income tax, game the system. Then before they can be caught up with, leave the country and come back with another stolen identity.

I've seen estimates of 12 million illegals in the US. If the average illegal is skipping out on $2500 income tax not paid, that's $30 billion in lost revenue. Add whatever the cost for the medical care, education, welfare, etc. is and that's an extreme amount of money to ignore.

There are 30 to 40 million illegals here...3 or 4 times that. Goverment figures usually say about 20 million, that they know of for certain. 100,000 a month now...that we catch and verify, then release 88% with a court date they never go to. Release HERE. Not in mexico. 1.5 million will cross in 2019 and get caught they say. I believe there will be 1.5 million they dont catch...so all their figures can be doubled. I am a construction superintendent. 95% of workers are latinos. Less than half speak any English. How many latinos do you know here legally? I happen to know quite a few. But more than half here arent legal...and I dont think the average person probably knows very many legal immigrants at all. It is an epidemic, crisis style. If we dont get the wall up soon. We are screwed. 10% of the US population is already illegals from central and south America.....ouch.

Google just got levied with a Billion dollar fine in Europe for some kind of idiocy. They didn't bat an eye. $10K is chump change in the corporate world. I agree with piggy. Start sending C Suite guys to prison, and it will stop.

I agree in an ideal world but drugs are illegal yet many use them. Also, many don't come here for work. They come here for free stuff. I think it's a pipe dream that they get cut off.

I do agree that we need a barrier, but number 1 could be doable. A fast, easy instant check system could be created so that farmers and other potential employers of migrants could be certain that they are ok to hire.

Three Previously Deported Hondurans Caught Running Salt Lake City Drug Ring

Three previously deported illegal aliens have been charged by the Utah Attorney General's Office with running a drug ring throughout Salt Lake City in addition to other felonies, reports KSL.com.

"Melvin Arrazola-Raudales, 41, Rene Leonardo Trejo-Raudales, 26, and Richer Brayan Valle-Raudales, 23, were each charged in 3rd District Court with two counts of drug distribution, a second-degree felony, and possession of a weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony," writes Pat Reavy.

All three men told authorities they had been previously deported but snuck back in through the Texas border.

Caravan Migrant from Viral Video Arrested on Assault Charges

A caravan migrant from Honduras who complained about being given beans to eat during her journey through Mexico is now in a Texas jail facing one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The woman became the topic of a viral video during her journey. The woman’s sister is also facing similar charges and both have an immigration detainer placed on them preventing them from bonding out.

Jail records from Dallas County jail revealed that Mirian Zelaya and Mirna Zelaya are both being held in a detention center on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. While jail records do not reveal the details that led to the charge, the news outlet Mundo Hispanico revealed that the two women allegedly beat another woman who was providing them with housing.
