From 'no crisis' to 'breaking point': Mainstream media changes its tune on border crisis amid illegal immigration surge

Fast forward, the same media outlets are now scrambling to accurately portray the border crisis, no longer fearing to quote top officials and their data, and declare that the southern border is at a “breaking point” amid a surge in the number of illegal immigrant crossings.

“The U.S. Immigration System May Have Reached a Breaking Point,” a New York Timesstory read Wednesday, detailing the unprecedented problems at the border.

“It was never like this before,” the article states. “The migrants come now in the middle of the night or in the bright light of day. Men and women arrive by the hundreds, caked with dirt, with teens and toddlers in tow.”

The story claims that a “breaking point” has been reached in America’s immigration system, which is no longer able to cope with the unseen levels of illegal immigration.

“The country is now unable to provide either the necessary humanitarian relief for desperate migrants or even basic controls on the number and nature of who is entering the United States,” the story notes.

The Post caught up with the Times' first report, admitting the crisis at the border only about three weeks later, printing an article titled “U.S. has hit ‘breaking point’ at border amid immigration surge, Customs and Border Protection chief says.”

Trump doesn’t want the trash here. Trump is being forced by the courts to allow the trash in. Since they have to be let in, they should go where people want them. It’s the way it should be. How much trash are you bringing in to live with your family?

They wanted to give sanctuary, he's accommodated them. Crime will rise, dependency will rise and poof small third world countries will pop up in major democratic cities. I thought that's what they wanted, they are getting it. Welcome to globalization and diversity.

So an effort to try and make Dems look bad is worth it even though it places American citizens at such a high risk from this "trash"?

No I don't I was just repeating the GOP company line. Of course many of those spooning out that line use illegal workers to fatten their wallets while their followers keep believing they're trash. It's how they've rigged the game - use low info, easily influenced people to loudly repeat their message

They're absolutely integral to the economy at this point. If our leaders were really interested in making this work they would be working on reform to deal with them. Instead they're playing politics and people like you eat it up because it's all you know how to do

No they’re not. We already had enough of them for you to enjoy their labor as modern day slaves so your avocado is cheaper. We don’t need any more and yet, they’re overrunning the border and look to keep doing so. You know they’re trash because you just posted your concern earlier about the talk of them being released in sanctuary cities. You also refuse to house them. You want them around your family as much as I do, which is to say you want them nowhere near your family. But you have no problem throwing them at others.

There are more jobs than people looking. That had been reported numerous times. Your lack of understanding doesn't mean it isn't true

My church has a large ministry to the migrant worker population that we are involved in. My kids come with us and play with their kids. I have no issues being around and helping families just trying to better their lot on life. They aren't trash simply because of the lat/long of their birth as you would believe.

You're really a sad person. I feel sorry you live with such hate in your heart

That is a tired ass line with no merit. I know, I hire Hispanics all the time for trades work on my house. Outside of lawn care and unlicensed irrigation work most Hispanics in skilled trades that at least run the business are legal. Do THEY hire illegals? I don’t ask that’s their business I hired them (which was your contention) They kinda have to be. And they aren’t cheap most of the Hispanics I hire are not lowest bidder. I care more about the quality of the work than lowest price. Another tired line is that they are for illegal immigration. I provided a link on that one awhile back. They are not for illegal immigration. In fact it pisses a huge number of them off. They abided by the rules and they don’t like the illegals cutting corners.
