'It's not going to stop, ever': Migrant apprehended by Border Patrol in Texas warns flood of Asylum Seekers will Continue to Worsen Under Biden
A migrant who crossed into Texas from Mexico has warned that the flood of asylum seekers will only continue to worsen under
Joe Biden's relaxed
immigration policies.
The migrant, who was not named, spoke to
Fox News on Friday in El Paso after being apprehended by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Asked if he believes more migrants will come to the US under the Biden administration, he said with a shrug: 'It's not going to stop, ever. It's not going to stop.'
The comments came after records revealed that the CBP apprehended more than 100,000 migrants at the border in February, compared to just 16,182 in April 2020 when migration slowed drastically amid the
coronavirus pandemic.
A senior CBP source told
Fox News that Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector are now considering releasing migrants into the US without an official Notice to Appear, a process that normally takes hours for each individual or family.
The move means migrants who crossed the border illegally would be released from custody into the United States - and it would place the responsibility of returning for an asylum hearing on the migrants themselves, through
Immigration and Customs Enforcement or legal assistance.
