A New Mexico rancher has revealed that migrants flooding across the US border are turning up in her yard asking for food and water - and her family helps them because they are afraid they'll get hurt if they refuse.

'A lot of them... come into the yard asking for food and water,' she said.

'We don't want to get hurt so we feed and water them and try to get them to move on.'

Adame said they often just go back in their house and call border agents to alert them to the migrants walking through their yard.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tore into President Joe Biden's administration's handling of the southern border crisis, calling conditions 'barbaric' and 'inhumane' during a town hall Wednesday evening.

New Migrant Caravan Begins Trek to U.S. from Honduras

A new caravan has formed in Central America and is traveling north with the goal of reaching the U.S.-Mexico Border.

The caravan formed earlier this week as several hundred migrants left San Pedro Sula in Honduras, Telesur TV reported. The group is preparing to cross into Guatemala despite claims by that country’s government that irregular migration will not be allowed. The Guatemalan government issued an order this week allowing the use of force to contain the caravan, the TV station reported.

The new caravan comes as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is overwhelmed by the number of migrants arriving each day. The surge appears to be largely fueled by the arrival of President Joe Biden and commonly held hopes that asylum determinations will be more favorable.

While some will argue these are good people simply coming here for a better life, to not acknowledge that among them are dangerous criminals and persons who potentially pose national security concerns is either ignorant or willfully disingenuous. 'Immigration Laws will be Enforced': Montana's Republican governor BANS Sanctuary Cities in his state - becoming 13th in the country to Require local police to hand over illegal aliens

Montana Republican Governor Greg Gianforte signed a bill on Wednesday banning sanctuary cities in the state, despite the fact that Montana does not currently have any sanctuary cities. It becomes the 13th state to ban sanctuary cities.

'We are a nation of laws, and immigration laws will be enforced in Montana,' Gianforte said in a statement after signing the bill into law.

The bill will require state and local law enforcement to comply with federal immigration law and empower the state's attorney general to pursue civil action against jurisdictions that do not comply - including fines and withholding state grant funds.

The US immigration policy should be based on the concept of what is best for the citizens of this nation without regard to any other questions.

We do not need more unskilled labor. We have plenty of individuals who should be filling those jobs who are US citizens. They simply lack motivation.

Immigrants should be chosen from those who possess a needed knowledge base or skillsets that are needed and then only on a limited basis. Only those who pass extensive background checks and who are ready and capable to contribute should be allowed. If someone has the ability to contribute financially and are willing to come here and invest in a productive enterprise should also be considered.

The border and other points of illegal entry should be shut down regardless of the level of force necessary to do so. Those here illegally should be made so uncomfortable and insecure via constant deportation enforcement that they are forced to self deport.

Kamala Harris has still to visit the US-Mexico border or even hold a press conference about her new duties in the two weeks since being tasked with addressing the migrant crisis.

The Vice President spent Easter weekend at her Brentwood home in Southern California where she baked a 'beautiful' roast pork with rice and peas, but did not find time in her schedule to visit the nearby border.

In the past two weeks she has also visited Connecticut for a talk with the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven, met with Gavin Newsom to show support amid his potential recall election, and made a trip to a bakery in Chicago.

Harris has also been busy moving into her new residence at the Naval Observatory just days after she complaind about living out of suitcases while it was being renovated.
