Of course it is. The taxpayer pays for educating kids who don't belong here. Any subsidized or required services like treatment at an emergency room for an illegal is fraudulent. Somebody always pays when people take unfair advantage. Laundering government costs to pay for ineligible recipients doesn't make taxpayers "victimless". ID theft doesn't leave the victim victimless. Victimless crime is a myth - probably more a fraud perpetrated by those with an agenda to cover up the crime.

Yes, a year for educating an illegal. You wouldn't have to throw many in jail at all. After a few examples it's game over for the illegals. I mean I can get a year in jail for having steroids without a prescription. Something that doesn't feed the cartel money (generally), something that won'r hurt anyone, and something that won't cost the taxpayers a dime. Talk about Draconian!

Remember our money and our debt is important. We need no more leaches. In fact, we need to drastically shrink the federal government. How about we start by getting rid of the worthless department of education all together, and then we can trim the IRS to 1/10th it's size at the very least.

I was a partner in a small company that audited written off accounts for insurance underpayment and re billing - there were a lot because healthcare insurors can be pretty shady. One interesting aspect of TennCare is that you can get coverage after the fact - pays different, but then it's really about making hospitals whole than a benefit to the insured. One case I remember was a drunk illegal with a previous history of alcohol and drug abuse was at fault in an accident that killed at least one person in another car. This guy began TennCare coverage while in the hospital; TennCare paid Vanderbilt (where he was airlifted no less) in excess of $100K (something close to 20 years ago), and that was far less than the billed amount (which normally is a joke).

The other thing I learned was that there's a reason a lot of people are on TennCare - poor life choices. So many TennCare claims included contributing factors like alcohol, drugs, smoking, obesity, HIV ...

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers interdicted a shipment of more than 1,100 pounds of methamphetamine at an international border crossing in South Texas. The attempted smuggling incident took place at the Pharr International Bridge Cargo Facility.
