Millions of Illegal Aliens From All Over The World Head For U.S. Border

January 20, 2021, Migrant president Joe Biden HALTS border wall construction.

January 20, 2021, Biden EXPANDS the illegal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows cartels to freely traffic children into the United States.

January 20, 2021, Biden endorses the U.S. Citizenship Act, which would grant U.S. citizenship to foreign lawbreakers.

January 20, 2021, Biden REVOKES Trump-era executive orders that enforced immigration laws.

January 20, 2021, Biden ends restrictions on immigration from countries rife with terrorism.

January 20, 2021, Biden stops deportations for 100 days, effectively providing AMNESTY to criminal and other removable aliens and sending the signal the Biden administration would not enforce the law.

Isn’t that encounters, not entries? If I’m wrong, I’ll certainly own that. I definitely do not think 2.5 million people should be able to illegally immigrate to the country a year.
Well there we have common ground, ladies and gents 😂 Seriously though, it’s bad… we have family in Texas and the communities can no longer handle the strain.. something has got happen

Serious question: Is there a difference between "encounters" and "entries"? Are any "encounters" denied entry, at least at a rate greater than 1% - 2%?

Irrelevant. The Senate GOP bill could pass and be signed and improve the situation.

Trump killed it for political reasons. GOP and Trump are massive hypocrites.

Irrelevant, POTUS can use EOs without additional funding for other countries to improve the situation. He is using this situation specifically for political gains instead of improving the security of our screen door border .This administration and the liberal left are hypocrites. You are partisan hack .

Why do we need another bill? Biden could solve the border crisis today by enforcing current law. Why has border crisis exploded to where it is today since Biden took office? Why did huge caravans of illegals start toward the border the day Biden was elected? You own this, yes you. Anyone that voted for that POS own this.

Not irrelevant when it could have been passes and implemented 6 months ago at a minimum.....it was for the border alone....not money to other countries...

Almost 250 years have passed since our founding and we are finally on the verge of getting legislation to protect our borders....and that damn orange insurrectionist killed it.

Do leftists ever self reflect and realize how moronic they come across?

In 2009, democrats had president and filibuster proof majorities. They didn’t address the border. They spent 2 years passing ACA and then Obama signed DACA EO in 2012. In 2016 republicans has president and both house majority and couldn’t find a measly (in todays world) 4bil for a wall. In 2021, Democrats had president and majorities in both houses, but Biden signed multiple EO’s creating our current border crisis.

This isn’t getting fixed because no one wants it fixed. But the current mess is purely on Biden/Dems. He has the “power of the pen” (thanks Obama) but chooses not to use it. And linking the border to Ukraine funding is just absurd, especially when only 20bil of 118bil in the “Border Deal” was actually going to the border.

They're not hypocrites. They just have a better plan. There's no way they have the logistics to pull off this plan. They ought to start with a 6 month moratorium on all asylums. Deny entry (ie close the border) for 6 months while we figure out where to put the migrants we have already and then see how many more we can house (it sure won't be an additional 4K a day). This bill will just lead to more chaos and whoever is President will be heavily criticized for its implementation

Oh really. Do explain.
Asylum is currently the biggest hole in the border.

Anybody who steps foot on US Soil needs only to be able to speak one single English sentence and, by law, they must be processed through the asylum system. Congress is needed to change the asylum system. The president cannot.

Once in the asylum system, migrants must (by law) be paroled into the country or detained. Detention must be funded by congress. It is not.

The current asylum system is slow. Resources would need to be allocated to speed it up. Congress handles those allocations.

Currently, by law, the options for expediting the removal of those who claim asylum is basically nil. Must be expanded by congress. The current bill changes that, last I heard.

Remain in Mexico cannot just be unilaterally reinstated because Mexico will no longer agree to it because of the problems it caused for them.

Title 42’s health justification (Covid) is gone. It has been enjoined.

Current law (again, congress) is very forgiving of initial attempts to cross the border unlawfully. Last I heard, this law adjusts that somewhat.

Remain in Mexico was never struck down by the courts so it could have been continued. Had it been continued there is nothing Mexico could have done except control their southern border.

Yes, our asylum laws/system is utterly ridiculous and needs to be fixed but this bill does not accomplish that.

Edit: And you are wrong about asylum seekers being paroled. That is not mandatory, is discretionary.

3. Asylum seekers without prior deportations who arrive at a port of entry. Asylum seekers who have never received prior deportation orders who request asylum at a port of entry are considered to be "arriving aliens" who are subject to "mandatory detention." CBP, ICE, and the immigration judges all consider this group of asylum seekers to be ineligible for release on bond at any time during their legal proceedings. The only exception recognized by these government agencies is that CBP or ICE may, in their discretion, decide to release certain asylum seekers on "parole." For example, when families arrive at the borders, CBP still frequently releases young children and their mothers on parole before they even have their credible fear interviews. However, for those who are detained for credible fear interviews, it is very rare for ICE to grant requests for release on parole, even after asylum seekers pass their credible fear interviews.

There hasn’t been an immigration reform bill passed in like 40 years and you don’t like this one because it doesn’t do everything you want. Think about how much sense that makes. The bill contains multiple substantial improvements, some of which I already discussed.

You’re still wrong about remain in Mexico. I never said anything about courts. I don’t think you understand how it works and are relying solely on the name, “remain in Mexico,” which is a misnomer. The individual is on US soil when they claim asylum. They are then returned to Mexico. This return requires consent of the Mexican authorities.

It would have. But Trump killed it.

If Remain In Mexico were to be reinstated against Mexico’s wishes, could they do anything about it? Other than file a complaint of some sort?
