BREAKING NEWS: Trump Imposes 25% Tariff On Colombia After It Blocked Deportation Flights as president enters first trade war​


Donald Trump fired a warning shot at Central and South American nations on Sunday if they refuse to comply with his plan to send flights of deported migrants back to their country of origin.

The president announced on his Truth Social account he is imposing a 25 percent tariff on all goods coming from Colombia – and the punishment will raise to 50 percent in one week's time.

It came after Colombia refused to let two U.S. Military flights full of migrants land on their soil on Sunday.


Colombian President Gustavo Petro said in a post on X earlier on Sunday morning he would not allow the U.S. to touchdown with migrants on board military aircraft.

Trump, in retaliation for the order, immediately announced sanctions against the South American country.

Following Petro’s announcement, Trump criticized him on social media while announcing a slate of new sanctions and policies targeting Colombia, including a 25% tariff on all imports from the country, a “travel ban” for Colombian citizens, and a revocation of visas for Colombian officials in the US along with “all allies and supporters.”

Trump also ordered stricter inspections of cargo shipments arriving from Colombia, along with banking and finance sanctions and visa sanctions on “all Party Members, Family Members, and Supporters of the Colombian Government.”

This is the Trump effect, baby!

However, within hours of Trump issuing a retaliatory threat to Columbian President Gustavo Petro, his stance changed.

Petro backed down from Trump and said he would offer to send a presidential plane to repatriate deportees from the U.S. to avoid Trump's sanctions threat.

A Texas substitute teacher has come under fire after inviting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers raid his school because his students “don’t even speak English.”

“I have many students who don’t even speak English and they are in 10th-11th grade. They have to communicate through their iPhone translator with me. The [U.S. Department of Education] should totally overhaul our school system in Texas too,” the post added.

Coast Guard Intercepts Boat Carrying illegal migrants as Expulsion Flight Operations Begin​



The US Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting several “alien expulsion flight operations” between California and Texas, which included intercepting a boat carrying illegal migrants that was sinking in US waters.

The USCG is coordinating with multiple Coast Guard units in support of the operations in coordination with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

On Saturday, USCG Southern California shared a photo on X showing crew aboard the cutter Active intercepting a vessel carrying nine illegal migrants bound for San Diego.

“The migrant vessel began to sink shortly after the Active crew stopped the voyage,” the post read. “All persons aboard the sinking vessel were safely removed and transferred to CBP.”

The USCG flight operations transport illegal immigrants to designated locations in Texas and California, where the Department of Defense then transports the migrants out of the US, according to the statement.

They didn't. The issue is how they are transported. The Colombian President objects to the immigrants being handcuffed. He says they can use his plane as they will be treated differently.

That isn't good over well at the WH because it's defiance of Trump.

So, they are going to pay to transport their own citizens now instead of American taxpayers paying for it?

Sounds like more winning. Not a maga-trumper but I fail to see the loss here.

Did he refuse?

That seems silly to me, if indeed he did. As many times before, my problem with Trump very often is not with the broad concepts behind his ideas, but his articulation and execution of them.
