That why I said I wasn’t talking about immigrants . The fact is I don’t know what he can do if he declares the borders closed and nobody is allowed in . I was just talking a what if scene . I would assume that closed borders means the milliatary could enforce that but again I have no clue .. it’s all about the words and how they are used I think ."Invaders"?
Really?
And yet still far superior to Fox. The fact that Fox has the best ratings encapsulates this period forever to be known as the Trump Catastrophe.
I don't think I've watched 15 minutes of MSNBC in my life. Fox is the worst. The others are varying degrees of bad to good, but Fox is the worst.I'm not concerned with Fox or defending them. And I don't care to get into a "my dad will beat up your dad argument". I just want to see if you continue to throw your support behind MSNBC and CNN and you proved my point Luther. All anyone has to do is read the dooshbag stuff that Steve Schmidt has said on MSNBC.
That is not what my neighbor just said... not without Congressional authorization, anyway.
Serious question: I never served in the military and know virtually nothing about this, but I have a neighbor who did serve in the US Army and he just told me that because of something called "The Posse Comitatus Act", Trump is prohibited by Federal Law from using the United States Army to enforce domestic policies on United States soil. He says this law was passed as an amendment to an army appropriation bill following the end of Reconstruction and has since been updated. He sounded very sure of himself.
Is this accurate? ... and is Trump using the Army for this border patrol or is it just the National Guard?

The short answer is he is using the Army and National Guard to advance his policy of fear mongering and sheep herding.
The other half of this is whether or not the issue of illegal immigration is considered a law enforcement operation or not. It's never been tried in court and we've always used Federal, State and local LE to enforce the border security and issue of illegals already here. So, honestly, we're in uncharted waters as this unfolds.
That’s what I was thinking , there’s a lot we just don’t know until it happens then the lawyers I’m sure will be happy to fight over it .
Here's the thing that many of the mouthbreathers won't realize. They can stomp their feet and whine all day long about it being NOT a law enforcement issue, but if the President has a Finding and declares such a situation to be a National Security issue, there isn't a darn thing they can do about it. The active duty military as well as Guard and Reserves on Title 10 orders can be used to enforce border security if such a thing happens.
I'd be shocked if Mattis, Kelly or someone along those lines hasn't brought this up already and Trump is prepared for that argument.
"Invaders"?
Really?
I just see it as a losing proposition for him. Hell send the Coast Guard to defend the Rio Grand, they do have police powers. Just leave the Army, NG and Jarheads to support roles.
