Milton will be HUGE for UT in 2023

Their are some posters who want us to lose every game Milton Starts so they cam post in a forum about how smart they were for criticizing Milton. That is what they live for.
I am sure several of them would be disappointed if we go 12-0 and Milton won the Heisman. And they would still be on the forum talking about how bad he is.

I really don’t think that’s true. If you’re a fan of the team, then you should be a fan of every player who sticks around and does the right thing for the team. Joe Milton is the ultimate teammate and possibly one of the classiest human beings in the modern age of college football. He’s paid his dues and works his ass off. He deserves a chance to start next year, but he’s wildly inconsistent.

When heupel was using him as an athlete and dialing up runs, joe got better. When joe tries to execute the offense that Hooker ran, we see overthrow joe. He hit some nice shots to white and keyton last night but still put way too much mustard on some easy passes.

They beat wake forest. They lost to Notre Dame and they were able to run all over Clemson and we beat them with both the pass and run. Offensive line could have played better yesterday though and I think the offense would have scored more had they done so.
We have to give Clemson some credit, their D line is strong. I thought our O-line battled and got better as the game went. They had a tough job tonight. GBO

Yeah no doubt. They have a legit defense especially on the line. But I still think the line could have done better cause they’ve played better against just as good if not better talent against Bama and LSU. They still did a decent job though.

Not saying he will play in the NFL, but…
Accuracy can be fixed. Size and arm strength can’t.

Milton, has Beowulf syndrome. It was even mentioned during the bowl game. Something about throwing with a flick of his wrist.
Thirty men's strength was in his grip. His hand was too strong.

You're correct, looked at the wrong line. He's still not a starter considering what he's done all year. He struggles. Granted, last night showed SOME improvement, but I put that more on Hooker spending the last week working with him than him magically learning something. He still has a lot of work to claim the starter position come next year, especially with Nico coming in. Unless he struggles heavily in this offense, he'll most likely get the nod because he can actually run where Milton couldn't outrun a quadriplegic last night.

. I think they have been telling Milton to be careful running his last 2 outings due to our depth at Quarterback at this time. Even Jackson had a shoulder soreness problem at end of year. Yes as big as Milton is he is going to have to run some next year to keep defenses honest. He can run and be smart about it. With his size he should be able to get the tough yards sometimes. Tackling a 6’5” 245 pound guy should not be easy. GBO

All this tal about Nico is exactly like the talk about Bailey coming in and being the next Manning. Let’s just wait and see how it plays out.

Yeah, no, I don't see Milton being "it" in 2023. People holding on to the same hope they had for G. He's not a highschool kid, he's a senior. We've witnessed his ceiling.

I think he's still getting better. Hazle has done wonders with him. Look at him from the time he was at Michigan to the Orange Bowl. He's hitting the deep ball, and is now running it on sweeps also. We'll be fine as Nico gets spun up.

No Jackson had broken his collar bone earlier in the season.

While being hard to tackle, he doesn't have wheels. He's like a baby giraffe in open field. If we want a QB that'll keep defenses honest, he's gonna have to make moves and run with some form of speed. 3 yarders ain't gonna cut it.

I was pleasantly surprised with Milton's progress, other than what you mention, there are too many quick 3 and outs. But my goodness, the progress he's made, I have hope for 2023. GBO!

He is faster than you give him credit for. GBO
