Mimi Groves/UT revoked admission

I think my biggest issue is the fact the Times decided to make a national spectacle of it. I don't even recall seeing anything about it until now.

The young lady already got beat up over it by not getting into college. Drawing national attention to it is not helping matters.

$$$$$$$$$$$

It all comes down to $$$$$$$$$

I hate the world we live in. Say one wrong thing when you’re young and your life is ruined. The fact this is now a national story will affect this girl’s ability not only to get into college, but also getting a job.

I’m ashamed of UT in more ways than one now.

The thing is, that youngin just painted a target on his back. He may think he's "teaching" her a lesson by basically ruining her image by dropping this when he did, but make no mistake, someone will do the same to him before long.

He's about to get a life lesson that you don't brag about such things and get away with it.
exactly - who is going to hire a vindictive jerk that cant be trusted

UT has become a disgusting institution. I never thought I would say this, but I would be more than ok with all of my children choosing a different university to attend.

I remember when in the 90's (maybe late 80's) when the Japanese were buying up investments in US properties at an alarming rate and it was national disucssion. A Japanese investment guy or such, was asked what made the US such an attractive investment. His reponse " The institutions of the US" (paraphrasing). Our academic and other non academic are rotten.

Cell phones cost you a quarter and you called someone to bail you out back in the day.

I kid you not. About the last time I used a payphone, circa eraly 90's, I put a quarter in and in did not trigger a ringtone. Hit the coin return and several quarters dropped out. Tried again and same thing and many more quarters dropped. After several attempts I was up several bucks. I was like WTH, just how may quarters were stuck up in there and how is it even possible.

What is the context. That's the problem with social media, you never understand the context of written words.
Part of the problem is who is using the word. Why is it alright for blacks to use that word but not whites. I know blacks use also use the n word ending with a A, but it basically means the same. It’s just as racist as the original n word

I agree. I think 2020 is the last year the university gets money from me.

Maybe to athletics in the future, but that is on hold for now, too.

I don't give them a freakin' dime. I don't recognize much of anything about the place where I graduated, especially the football team. I give money to local charities, not to that place.
