I must have missed that gem!

its in the around the NCAA forum.

he claims that he didnt know who calipari was before he came to UK, and is dead set that the majority of people are the same way.

:lolabove:

no surprise nobody over there is agreeing with him, even the rest of the UK contingency. infact, i think they are starting to become ashamed that he is a UK fan :eek:lol:

Why is a Florida hoops fan trying to make fun of UT hoops? Have you checked Florida's record against UT in hoops in recent years?

I think the Gator was just questioning why a discussion of a UK recruit would be placed in the UT Basketball Forum, rather than the NCAA forum.

Wait... How is pointing out that a thread about a UK recruit doesn't belong in the UT basketball forum making fun of UT basketball? And, yeah, I honestly don't care about how Florida does against Tennessee as long as we're going deep into the tournament. :eek:k:

I'd hate to be a Kentucky fan too. A win against UT in Football every 26 years? That has to suck

It will never happen again, and it was lucky to get to 26 imo.

I must have missed that gem!

Everyone's a hater. I spoke my opinion and was bashed for it. Takes some guts to say s*** that nobody can admit is true sometimes.

Oh wow, haha I've got to check that out.

It was pretty funny lulz. I even laughed a few times.

Bless your heart.

So, if I say that Western Kentucky has more basketball tradition than UK, it took guts? I concede that it took a high level of general ignorance, but not guts. And just because you think its true, doesn't make it so.

If it's true and you know that it will be received negativity (which i did know) then it took some amount of guts to say it. I admit some of it was ignorance and not really caring what others think about me, but it was a little gutsy. i don't like bashed but it's all cool. Your example makes no sense.

Actually, my example makes perfect sense. Making ridiculous statements over and over waiting to see what sticks takes no guts at all, unless you are trying to make some correlation between having guts and having thick skin, realizing what you are saying is utterly ridiculous and you are about to be blasted. Much like me saying that WKU is a better basketball program than UK, your statements re: Calipari are silly and reek of attention-seeking. Thus, my example is precisely apt in this case.

First of all, I didn't make ridiculous statements. Second of all, I knew that people would disagree because people on VN seem to not understand the the majority of people don't devote themselves to following CBB. It's true I have a thick skin, I honestly could care less what some people say, but it does sting a bit when I read all the nega-posts.

Your statement would fit in your own category of ridiculousness because it has no logical truth to it. Mine at least contains a logical, coherent argument ,even if everyone thinks it's a stupid claim.

Stating opinions as facts does not constitute a logical nor coherent argument. Also, if you knew what you were getting yourself into, why the hell are you dragging it on? By your definition, I do believe your posts fit into "his" category as well, friend.

How do I respond to your lack of comprehension?

I love the contradiction that is your last sentence in your first paragraph. You could care less what people think, yet the negative comments sting? Well, which is it?

Your argument is neither logical, nor coherent, thus making it a stupid claim indeed. The sooner you come to grips with that, and stop defending it, the sooner you will stop being ridiculed for what is universally regarded as a moronic opinion.

It's hard to explain. I know it's just words on a screen. I know it doesn't affect me in real life at all, so in that aspect it doesn't really hurt me. It does sting a little when I see people bashing a simple opinion.

Explain how my argument is "stupid". You have yet to provide any logic against my opinion.

Again, why the hell is this thread about a possible Kentucky recruit with no ties to or contact with Tennessee in the Basketball Forum?

I was just curious about the guy. Knew he was being looked at by Vandy, didn't know if UT would be interested.

If your argument is that the majority of people had no idea who John Calipari was prior to coming to UK, then that is a stupid argument. He was one of the biggest coaches in the nation at Memphis. He had taken his Memphis team to the national title game, achieved a #1 ranking, and had top recruiting classes in his last several years. He had also been to a Final Four by rebuilding a dumpster fire at UMASS before leaving for the head job with the New Jersey Nets.

I get it. You are what, 15-16 years old? So, you were 12 or so when Cal came to UK. It's possible you had never heard of him, but to act like the overwhelming majority falls in the same boat is ridiculous. He was a known commodity. Why else would UK pay him $4 million a year? You don't throw that kind of cash around to some unknown.

Clear;y you haven't read what I wrote in the other thread.

No, I haven't. I'm going off of what you said on page 3 in this thread in your response to bleedingtnorange. He says you said it in the other thread. You never refuted it, and in fact, defended it by saying it took guts to say it.
