I'm sure someone is better at this than me at posting clearer pics but....
This offense gives the QB 5-6 chances each game were your guy is wide open-5-10 yards past your man. That is highly unusual and a credit to coach H. Our QB, whether you like him or not, has to complete at least 50%-60% of those throws. Remember, they are almost uncovered. Hooker did a stellar job at making teams pay for their mistakes. Joe is not. These are gimme points and we easily left 14-21 points on the table. These are huge. We all watch FB. How many times do you see other teams WR running this wide open? Maybe 2, possibly 3. Our coach has 5-6 each game and we are missing them. It's crucial and it's the difference between the #1 offense and the #40th.

Ok now go back and screenshot every missed throw from Hooker last year. Perfection is not a thing. Joe has missed and will miss throws, but he is our best QB and had a hell of a game today. Made one really bad mistake against UF with the INT but our weaknesses are not because of Joe Milton.

You’re right, pictures don’t lie,
But now post the 5-6 drops each game that stall our offense, and the #times the Oline completely breaks down.
Put them all together and you’ll have the COMPLETE difference between #1 & #40

I'm not disputing anything anyone wrote, it's a team effort and it takes all 11 to play complete ball. I'm not saying that Nico should start. He should not start. Joe gives us the best shot to win. What I am saying, and showing, is that his completion % on these very wide open TD throws are around 20%-30%. You hit one or two of these and it's a different game no matter who you play. Yes, Hooker missed some-but he made more than he missed. He threw a good deep ball. Joe doesn't, but Joe throws better on the perimeter for the WR to get moving quicker off the screen, short game. Maybe that's why they call it more. All that being said, Joe needs to hit the homerun ball because that's what this offense is predicated on:making you pay when the defense F's up and gets caught flatfooted. That's all

OP did you consider Milton having enough time to see those plays develop and make the throw?
Yes-i looked. The one to Squirrel down the seam had some pressure but he wasn't hit. If i remember correctly, I don't think he got hit on any of those. Replay is available in the thread with the time stamps on the pics. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong

Before he got rolled up on he was have the best game of his career. After that we wasn't as sharp, but he looked look today overall.

That's right. The pass to Squirrel in the end zone was pre roll. All others happened after the roll up play

What the OP is getting at any QB starting in the SEC should hit 60 % of these and Milton is not . Not saying Milton isnt the teams best shot maybe CJH should have went portal or something . Milton is all Vol and is a good dude but he isnt going to take a game over and win 6 year CFB player is what he is . Go vols

Yes. And very few coaches give the QB this many opportunities at wide open looks every game. Credit to our coach. Hope Joe's leg is good and I expect him to ball out on SC next Saturday but I bet Joe would tell you he needs to hit a couple of those

Nfl qbs don't hit 60% of throws beyond 30 yards, but you want Milton to. Ok

I didn’t see many drops today. A ton 2 weeks ago, but none that stand out from today.

It is honestly amazing, and something I’ve never seen before. The lengths some here will go to defending Milton is absolutely insane. Like knowing your girlfriend is a whore, but willing to fight anyone who says so. Risk your life to defend her honor. It really is baffling to me. I really just don’t get it. I’m assuming we are all Vol fans here, and want the best for our team, but the knee jerk reaction to, and absolute disdain for those who see joe as an inconsistent qb is just weird. I guess it’s just the entitlement class that I’ll never understand

Yep. Frustrating to miss those TD passes, but Joe is our best option at this point. Hopefully he can start hitting more of them.
Why do people say this type of stuff? I just don’t get so many of our fans. What on earth makes you think he’s the best option? Nobody else has had a chance to play. And truthfully…I believe every other qb on the staff would hit a higher percentage of these throws than Milton. Many of the throws he misses are automatic for even a good highschool qb. Milton just is a good passer of the football. It’s not hard to recognize
