My initial thought is that they do not know what the word "interracial" means. After reflecting more on this issue, I find myself even more attached to my initial thought.

I think 46% of people in Mississippi are still trying to plot the Confederacy's next move in the Civil War. Stopping the playing of Dixie at football games was just a ploy.

Mississippi is slowly coming around. At Ole Miss last year they ditched Col. Reb as a mascot and are now represented by a gay Black Bear.

I am sure it isn't exclusive to Mississippi republicans, but that mindset is far more likely to exist in Mississippi than in any other state north of the MD line and west of the Miss river save Texas

Is anybody questioning that? I don't have any stats, but I think that's a reasonable statement. MG was just saying it isn't a republican thing necessarily. Hell, it's not even a white thing.

Yes, but his opinion was developed with a relatively small sample size and delivered as though it was fact. I used the terms likely or unlikely to qualify the opinion.

So, you don't agree with me? Do you think people north of the MD and west of the Miss river save Texas are just as likely to be against interracial marriage as Mississippians?

I think you'd be surprised at how many black people don't like interracial marriage. You'd also be surprised at how much latent racism exists north of the Mason Dixon.
