All I gleaned from the article is that they managed to find a couple hundred registered Republicans in the state of Mississippi who want to outlaw interracial marriage. I don't find that very shocking.
Ran across this article and thought it was interesting but not surprising. In a recent poll it was revealed that 46% of Mississippi Republicans think interracial marriage should be made illegal. Thoughts?opcorn:

so good of you to completely ignore my larger point that resistance to interracial marriage is by no means a problem exclusively with 46% of Mississippi republicans (allegedly).
I am sure it isn't exclusive to Mississippi republicans, but that mindset is far more likely to exist in Mississippi than in any other state north of the MD line and west of the Miss river save Texas
weren't you just chiding droski about posting opinion as fact?
Yes, but his opinion was developed with a relatively small sample size and delivered as though it was fact. I used the terms likely or unlikely to qualify the opinion.
So, you don't agree with me? Do you think people north of the MD and west of the Miss river save Texas are just as likely to be against interracial marriage as Mississippians?
