The fact they are undefeated is crazy. Just look at how their schedule has played out. They finally hit the hard part of there schedule and look at it. They get UGA with all there wide outs injured and top 2 RB's, then they play the Gators without there best offensive and defensive players in the game. This week they get USC without there QB. Shows 2 things. TN really is whipping up in people and 2 Mizzu is taking advantage of it. :lolabove:

They really have benefited from the Vols knocking people around. Vols should at least get a thank you card or something.

Seems That UT Played Georgia And Florida When They Were Weakened As Well.

Missouri Took Advantage Of Those Benefits. UT Did Not. Don't Act Like Mizzou Has Not Earned Those Wins.

UT Will Have To Play One Of Its Best Games Of The Season To Even Have A Chance To Beat Mizzou. If You Believe Otherwise, You Are In For A Long Day When UT Plays Them.

Their starting QB gets hurt and the season looks in question - The back up comes in and he beats the Gators by 20.

At least they're making some of their own luck.

I asked for a gift basket from a Mizzou friend last week, and I was offered a picture drawn by her kid instead. I still haven't seen that drawing. "Show me" indeed.

Let's worry about em next week....good point about their luck with injuries though. We'll see how they do against UCSe. The ole ballsack is still the coach there last time I checked.

We had a little luck in 98

Tennessee Good Luck:

1998 Syracuse, the last series of the game, the d.b. holds the receiver. However; the ref doesn't call it. We regain possession, kick the field goal and win.

200? South Carolina: Foster fumbles the ball, in the last couple of minutes of the game. McClendon fell on the ball, as it bounced a few yards forward. Not only do we recover the ball, but the ball advanced past the 1st down marker. We win with a field goal.

1998 Arkansas: Clint fumbles the ball, late in the 4th quarter.

2010 UAB: We should have lost that game. However; every time that UAB was in scoring distance, their kicker missed the field goal. In fact, he missed 5 field goals. Had he made just 1 of those field goals, we would have lost the game. We win in O/T from a pass from Simms to Moore.

1998 Florida: Florida field goal kicker misses the field goal in O/T.

2011 Vanderbilt: Eric Gordon has been jumping passes all season long. At times, he jumps the pass and leaves the receiver undefended and it ends up bad for us. Eric had, at times, been in Dooley's dog house because of this. Late in an O/T game against Vandy, Eric jumps the route, intercepts the pass and runs 90 yards for the game winning t.d.

2003 Florida: Clausen throws a hail Mary, as time expires in the 1st half of the game. James Banks is defended by 3 Gators. Banks catches the ball for the t.d. and this gives us the momentum for the 2nd half of the game, and we carry that momentum to a win.

2007 Kentucky: Dan Williams blocks an easy field goal attempt in O/T from Kentucky. Had that field goal been successful, we would have lost the game and would not have gone to the S.E.C. Championship game. Also, Hamilton would not have given Fulmer an extention...

They are no different than Mississippi State last year. They will drop 3 or 4 of their last 5 games just as MSU lost 4 of 5 last season.

Missouri 2013 = Mississippi State 2012

Every bit of this is trumped by Derek Dooley

I just noticed that we haven't had any "good luck" events in the past 5 years. To the contrary:

2009 Alabama: Lincoln kicks a worm burner and makes a fat azz bammer D lineman a hero.

2010 LSU: 15 men on the field to give LSU a win after time expires.

2010 North Carolina: Lose on a FG after time expires.

2013 Georgia: Lose as Pig fumbles while reaching for the pylon.

IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE IN "LUCK".

Mizzou is a good, not great, team. They get exposed and beat by USCe this week. Thompson is a good QB for USCe and the game plan will be designed for his skillset by Spurrier, instead of him coming in cold and trying to do what Shaw does. USCe's D is more than capable of inflicting damage on them and will be looking to do so after our upset.

Your never lucky going 7-0 in the sec. ever. period. there 7-0 and 12 other teams in the conference aren't. you make valid points but conviently forget they had a backup freshmen qb beat florida..

mizzou will be a battle for us , if we can win it would be bigger then south Carolina.

"Lucky bounces" happen to every team over the course of time. Unlucky bounces also happen. You picked 8 instances out of 15 years. The OP mentioned several "lucky" things for Missouri in one season.

What's your point?

I am not saying they are not a good team. Although they are not 7-0 in SEC. They are 3-0 in the SEC. I would like to see how the rest of the year plays out for them. They are playing the best of the east currently. Luck on their side or not. They are making it happen.

You could argue that Mizzou, Texas Tech, and even Baylor have all benefitted from the ease of their first half of their schedules. The point that Mizzou has faced teams coming off of tough fights like UGA for example makes them a little more "lucky" is valid.

The newxt 3 weeks will define who these three teams really are.

Missouri has had good fortune with their schedule so far, but they are a decently talented team, with arguably the best defensive player in the league (Sam), an excellent defensive line and they just up 36 pts on Florida's defense.

They're the surprise team that seems to emerge every year that plays with great confidence and as a team.... this can't be discounted IMO. My hope is that SCar goes up there and wins this week and their confidence takes a severe hit and quite a bit of the air comes out of their balloon before we get their a week from Saturday. If not, I don't see us beating them at their place.

Just like any sport.....I would always prefer to be lucky rather than good!
